Wait 'til Mikey figures out that the $700 computer will only show him the gears IF he's running Di2 or AXS.

This appears to be an excellent, yet costly, solution, as the Ace states it will do exactly what I had been hoping to achieve and with very little error. My analog approach was fraught with inconsistencies and variables, making results less meaningful.

Back somewhere is a post I’m replying to. Forgot to quote and not interested in wading through the musings of the general riff raff to find it

The OP is rapidly approaching 2,000 posts, yet he still hasn't learned how to quote the post he's responding to. The standards at Troll U. have really dropped.

Referring to post suggesting $700 was a lot to throw at the problem which is back in the morass.

The gear index and gear ratio data presented achieves what I want and I get an easier to read screen

problem solved.

I have yet to see anyone post that they are interested or care. That was more of my point- you just keep saying things that nobody cares about, and after the fact you claim its because you are asking questions that arent ever asked.
You are largely just talking to yourself. Its like this is a personal blog for you to journal your thoughts.
Just because others comment on your lack of a point, which creates engagement, doesnt mean there is any benefit to this or other threads.

here’s a tip. If you don’t care, don’t reply multiple times and the thread will die.

BF is unique in that there are a contingent of members who cannot comprehend this simple fact.

lol

I forgot about that one! Is Iron Maiden considered "old man" music? I suppose, maybe, considering some of them might be in their 70s soon if not already.

This thread is pretty loopy even for you.

If you don’t want people to comment about how loopy your threads are, don’t post loopy threads.

You are unique in not comprehending this simple fact.

Is the Wahoo device doing anything for you other than letting you know what gear number and what the gear ratio is? Does the companion app log that data over the duration of the ride? How will you use that data?

At this point, it's no longer about you. We're just keeping it alive by trading jabs, funny puns and subtle insults with each other. Like watching cat videos or trainwreck videos, we just can't stop.

I feel it helps with efficiency. Yes, I believe it is logged, and you can compare rides if you do the same route, which would also be useful.

Except you will keep posting to keep it open regardless. You responded to nobody earlier so you don't need anyone else to have your threads continue on.

It's like a country music song... Read the thread backward, and you'll get all those things back. Your wife, your job, your truck, your dog...

My life was like a country music song...My ex-friend is with my ex-wife in my ex-house with my ex-dog. I got my pickup truck and a guitar.

All of that is true.

The rest of the story is that I also got my bicycles, a keeper wife, two amazing kids, and a great life...but that's not very country.

Ouch. I thought I had it bad.

But it is nice to end up with a spouse upgrade.

If you're finding some usefulness out of it, so be it. Personally, it seems a whole lot like you're over-thinking things.

To your credit, you're not spewing negative criticism about a group of cyclists that does things different than you this time, so I guess that's an improvement.

Meh. It is what it is, and that's just the way life works out. These days, we're all co-grandparents. With that attitude, however, I had no future as a country music songwriter - LOL.
