Problems with Performance

OK, it may be a rant but they have screwed me out of over 1000.00 in points. I called several times to Customer service after talking to the local manager (who I believe saw the problem was on their side) and never get a call back from the supervisor (Sue) who is the only one who can make the necessary decisions.

Been shopping with these guys for YEARS. However, I would be willing not to go there again if this falls through without any care from them.

The Problem:
I had a membership which was to be renewed automaticaly - this is according to their records. I go to the local shop and every time I am told i have points building. They ask for my membership mumber and keep seeing me in the system with a membership number. Then later I fine out I am in the system twice so I ask for a consolidation of the 300+ points and 400+ points onto one acct. Next I am given one spot in the system and am advised I have no membership. it expired (remember it was on auto renewal) . I ask for the points back and a membership reinstatement. NO response from customer service calls or letters to Chapel Hill.

These guys do not seem to care. Oh, buy the way. As this is going on I am still buying. Did i just buy another membership, no. i was told to hold off for a decision from performance first. i would say i am closer to 1500.00 in points now.

Time to shop elsewhere.

Tappets has a pill that can help with performance problems.

True. Perhaps I could get the Customer service dept to take it and get something right

In my experience, they're a pretty good and honorable shop. . . My guess would be that you'll get satisfaction, but it'll take about 25% or 33% longer than you would wish for. . . (and corporations are "human beings," but that's a WHOLE other topic. . .).

Give 'em a chance and keep in mind that you're dealing with a really big company, so it will take longer than the local owner/operator shop. . .

**sigh**

I remember when Performance was a small mail-order shop in Chapel Hill, VA.

I used to love to call and order parts just to hear the salesgirls' southern accents.

NO LUCK.

I tried calling Customer Service and was told a sup has to deal with it. Sup would never call back. I was even given a name of a sup to direct comments to. NO call back.

I wrote to performance, complaint dept., no reply.
I wrote to the head man, no reply. Figured it was worth a try.

I can say for sure, I am done with them even if I have to pay more elsewhere. Good company they may have been, but I did not find that out now.

I'm still waiting for my Forte Titan 700cc rear wheel from them. First they promised me 8/13, then 8/21 and now 9/18 so they better get them in next month.

Why let points build up? It's not like they earn interest or anything.

Use them each time you make a purchase and you won't risk the corporate dullards losing them.

That always seemed like a no brainer to me. It would never have even occurred to me to let them accumulate.
