There aer two different teams for Bike Forums.

One is for weight loss, the other for everyone who wants to join.

The weight loss one has about 10 members.

The general one has about 20+ members.

TXCiclista 01-28-04 08:10 AM

Gary,
I guess that means you'll be doing 2005 ;) My plan is to get 2,004 miles (since it's 2004). Once the weather warms up, I'm gonna start crankin' em out :D I'm also a teacher and I have the whooooole summer off... ;)

PS Is anyone still a member of "Team BF"? If not, I think I'm gonna delete to save confusion...

TXCiclista 01-28-04 08:14 AM

dex max and andy carpenter are the only members not on "Bike Forums" but on "Team BF"

clintthayer 01-28-04 11:20 AM

I'm out of the picture for a month! Broke my foot and doctor said I can only use a stationary bike (trainer I figure)! Not a big fan of using the trainer when the whether is nice but I suppose I will have to to keep my fitness at a tolerable level.

Made my 400+ for the month!

Allen H 01-28-04 11:43 PM

Well, it pales compared to your achievement, DnvrFox, but I cracked 100 miles this month for the first time since I started keeping a log and getting serious about riding (last November). since I was in the Virgin Islands the first week of the month (no biking), and on a business trip for 4 days over this past weekend, I really did my 100+ in a little over half the month.

Hey! Boss man Clint....

Is it possible to introduce a League of teams..

You know, top mileage team, and going down to the lowest mileage.

I know you have the list for the U.S. States, but this excludes all your foreign members.
Thanks.....

clintthayer 01-29-04 06:45 AM

Thats a pretty good idea. Let me toss it around in my head a little.

And great progress folks... keep those miles a'coming!!!!

You guys are killing me!! This is fun though, January has been my best month in a year partly because so many of you guys are nipping at my heels on that total number. I never thought I would watch that number like I have. Who is AZ cyclist? I get within 60-80 miles of him and he goes out and does a big ride and blows me away every time! I'm thinking about taking today off but I'm afraid denver will sneak up behind me and pass me :D

clintthayer 01-29-04 09:56 AM

This is the main reason why I created activebody... Way to go guys...

As it turns out, I'm not going to be putting on lots of miles on the bike in 2004. I'm going to try my first half marathon in early April in St. Louis and then do a 12 hour mtn bike race in May. Not doing too many road races on the tandem with our first child coming in Aug. Should be a fun 2004.

My wife and I were with a group of 7 couples. We bare-boat chartered 2 48-ft. yachts in St. Thomas and cruised between islands. Besides St. Thomas, we went to St. John's, Peter Island, Virgin Gorda, Tortola, and Jost Van **** - so we spent more time in and around the BVIs than the US VI, on balance. Lots of snorkeling, a little sightseeing and shopping, mostly relaxing.

I've been to St. John's before - we stayed at Caneel Bay, which is gorgeous, and a great setting, so undeveloped.
