Despite the switch issue. I was able to fix the weather feature that went off-line a couple of weeks ago. I also suspect the new and improved weather will be a little faster then the previous code.

Cheers,
Clint

Yeah, I'm doing a century on Sunday, and that should give me an estimated 2,000 metres or so of climbing.

Zin 06-02-04 09:46 PM

I don't have any way of recording my climbing. My GPS receiver shows current elevation but does not record the changes on the route info.

What are you using to record your elevation gains, Chris?

Chris L 06-02-04 09:49 PM

Check out this thread: http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...ight=Altimeter

I ended up getting the cateye one that I mentioned. The current altitude readings can be subject to variations in air pressure due to weather changes, but the changes aren't really all that huge -- and they're even smaller when measuring total climbing, given that total climbing only accumulates when you are actually climbing and at no other time.

A while back I was asking for a few user comments on how/why people like the site. I try and ask this question from time to time to get a little feedback and also post those thoughts on:

If you have a strong statement (either bad or good) I'd love to hear it! Feel free to email thoughts to admin@activebody.org

Thanks folks,
Clint

What a great site! I am having a lot of fun with it, and it is so motivating! I have been looking for a site that I could log my ride info in...thanks! I am moving to England in two weeks...will I be able to change my location once I move? (I assume in the profile section)
Thanks again!
Sarah

It's been awhile since the lost post here; how's everybody doing?

Hey Carl at least I pulled ahead of you for one day (on my Birthday no less). I really enjoyed the glory while it lasted.

clintthayer 06-28-04 07:14 AM

Busy here... lots of "getting ready for the baby" activities around my house but not much biking. I am trying to lose weight during this slower racing season and it seems to be working... lost about 3 pounds last month.

Hope everyone is doing well.

If it was a lost post, how do we know about it? :D

Hey, I am doing pretty good, mileage wise, IMHO!

Of course, no one beats Chris. He just eats those miles up!

Good for you, I just hit 2,000 for the year! Hope to get 4,000 miles.

BeTheChange 06-28-04 04:36 PM

I just joined the team. I meant to do it a while ago but I'm a procrastinator. What a great idea.

Actually, Supcom's been running me pretty close in the latest challenge, and this when I'm riding in the good weather (i.e. winter). I might have to pull my finger out soon.

TXCiclista 06-29-04 08:27 AM

Haha. I saw that Gary. About crapped my pants. My wife knows about our "wager" and laughed when I logged on and simply said "Oh no. He's ahead." :D Looks like you covered a lot of ground. I may be in trouble since I'm having my rear wheel rebuilt and this is the last week to finish our move. May not get a whole lot of time on the bike this week :o Gonna have to work EXTRA hard next week I guess :) Take care Gary and thanks for getting me going again ;)

TXCiclista 07-05-04 10:25 PM

GREAT idea on the TdF challenge Clint :)

clintthayer 07-06-04 06:56 AM

Thanks, but it was Chris L. idea... I just put some things in motion. I think I'm having as much fun watching the challenge on activebody as I am watching the tour.

I really think someone needs to beat Chris... ;)

So do I. My miles were a little slack in June.

notsofast 07-28-04 11:49 AM

July is almost up! Lets get in those final miles. I need another 20ish miles to top last years July total.
BTW Carl I rode 77 miles last night in an effort to gain some of that 99 miles you had up on me again ;) It was tough to do on a workday too.

TXCiclista 07-28-04 02:24 PM

Aw man :( I was just starting to get comfortable with my lead too :D

Great work though... :)
