One can lose a whole morning looking through the reviews for bikes at Wallyworld. I laughed, I cried.
Here is my favorite:
Product Attributes:
Value for price paid: 4 out of 5
Meets Expectations: 2 out of 5
I bought this product on a fixed income because i need a way to work on almost a daily basis. I rode this bike for over 3 months, more then 25miles a day to and from work. And although it did the job and got me where i needed to go, after the first day i had to turn the seat sideways because of how incredibly uncomfortable it was. Other then that i would say it was a good bike, but if a bike is uncomfortable, most ppl arent likely to continue using it
Recommends this product? No
Age: 18 - 24
Gender: Male
Has owned product for: 5 - 6 months

I wouldn't use a wally bike for foul weather use. It would suck even more in foul weather, and I guess you hate riding it in good weather.

I'd say keep the walmart bike for random less than great conditions. They aren't great bikes (most are pretty far from good) but they usually manage to get the job done. I own one that I use to ride to campus with. I hate it and its not fun to ride but nobody wants to steal it and I don't care if idiots ram it up against the racks while I'm not looking. Sounds like the schwinn is a pretty sweet deal though. Nice hunting, enjoy it!

I just made good use of a wal-mart bikes(roadmaster mountain bike, their cheapest one) rear hub and front spokes and rim,I just converted the rear wheel into a single speed freewheel for my trek classic cruiser.Took the rear hub, front rim and front spokes used it to build a rear freewheel wheel.I just have to buy the rear freewheel gear for it.
The coaster brake hub lasted only 2500 miles(9 months),so I know a freewheel hub will last longer than that, otherwise I will have to spend tons of money buying wheels and coaster brake hubs(almost every year).Since I already have a wheel that will work from parts that I have,I don't have to buy a new wheel for at least maybe 7500 miles 2 years.
oF course I must use the front brake.
