Haha what? You do realize, people have been blaming linguistic change for the decline of moral values and impending downfall of civilization for at least as long as history has been written down, right?

I think the cagers don't realize it's dangerous any more than any of the other heinously stupid things they do in cars. They feel safe, anonymous, and unthreatened, so whatever they're doing must be safe.

I guess that is more reason for me to stick to the MUP. I've had whistles and catcalls and that is bad enough. I feel safter on a MUP. What is wrong with people? I don't understand why idiots in cars feel the need to harrass people on bikes.

I fixed your post for you.

People have been harassing people that are in some way different from them for a long time. Sometimes it is about skin color, sometimes religion, sometimes the vehicles they choose to use, sometimes their sexual orientation, sometimes their genitalia. Sometimes it is some combination of these factors.

I like to think the world is getting better, a little bit at a time.

We are wearing weird clothes and what looks like a mushroom on top of our heads.

We are pretty much asking for it.

(Just kidding of course, there is no excuse.)

It's an alternative lifestyle for many of us. That usually gets you yelled at occasionally.

I haven't driven since I moved to Chicago. I hope to never have to, at least not until I have kids. I also haven't had to pay obscene prices for gas, parking, car insurance, or repairs. That's how I can easily justify buying new stuff for my bike and saving for a new one. If I were smarter about it, I would have put away the couple thousand dollars a car would have easily cost me in the last year.

But, yes, people are jerks. Always have been. always will be.

I've had the urge to butt slap some walkers/joggers on the MUP path as I cycle by.

Then I remember that its bad karma, and go home and look at porn.

It happened to my spouse about 30 years ago. Killed her two front teeth when she went down.
An ******* move no matter how you slice it.

I was slapped on the side of my face by a female pedestrian. I was riding my Puch, and she was with a friend and waving her arms like she was being attacked by a wasp. A line of people were coming up on bikes towards me on a stretch of the bike-path. I had nowhere to run - "One Your Left!" I shouted. To no avail. She maintained her center-of-path position. !SLAP! as I went by...It never occurred to me to slap her back.

Somewhere else, at this exact moment, Kerri was getting her 'boobs' grabbed.
