Odd thing is, every time I use a 20% code over the phone, the first thing Performace asks is "how much is the discount". You'd think they would know what their discount is for a specific code ... ?

I used 6000403 on 11/3 & it was rejected as of today, cancelling my on-line order & now some of the items I ordered are no longer available. Next time, I'll do it over the phone, where the response is at least immediate!

I called Performance a min ago & they say the only coupon they are honoring, is one that end in 387, which is a mail in.

Is Performance shooting straight?

I would call them, and make them honor their sale. If you printed out the receipt that shows the items, and the 20% deduction, you have all the amunition you need.

I couldn't get 20% off today but 6000405 worked for $10 off. I would have saved $23 with a 20% coupon so I'm not too bummed.

anyone has the new code? Terry?! come and save us! 403,404,405,406 and 407 do not work for 20%.

Performance just decide they will not honor the coupon after my order was on hold since last Tuesday(!), said i have to mail-in the actual flyer/coupon. No problems, i'll just go to my LBS for a while.

Most of their shoes that are on sale don't come in my size. Just my luck.

I should have ordered last week... cost me a packet missing out on the coupon. I ordered over the phone for various reasons (sizing questions, etc) and the guy told me flat out that NO COUPONS work anymore. Too bad, because this was by a factor of two the biggest order I've ever placed (I will be riding in January, dang it!). <sigh>

Edti: FYI this was with Performance. At least I got my A5.1 pedals on mad sale with a coupon to boot a few months ago.

I had a couple of Performance coupons that I was given for participating in a charity ride. When I tried to use one, I was told that it had been "expired" (though it showed an expiration of 12/31/04) due to "abuse by some dishonest people who had posted coupon numbers on a website" (their words, not mine). I was advised to mail in the hard copy to get the credit on my purchase.

I think what performance should have done is issue a 20%(or any other discount) coupon to individual Team Performance buyers, this way they wouldn't have to 'delete' coupons because they were 'abused' by everyone. Speaking of which, most bikers arent Gates' relatives and dont have unlimited funds, so most of us like saving money right? so would you use the 20% coupon just once? yeah i thought so. I admit, i used it more than once(i like saving $$ i guess). But to look at it from Performance Bike's side - if i was their sales manager and was seeing parts sold waaaay below retail, meaning that my company isnt really making any money on all these sales with buyers using the damn 20%, i'd make up something to cancel the discount. so to sum it up - GIVE ME ANOTHER CODE!!! please!!! i promise i wont place any more orders for $3700.

"Abused"??!!!?!!?!?! BS!!! This thread has drummed up a TON of business for Performance. I bought TWICE as much as I would have
because of the extra 20%. I could buy elsewhere, but these 20% codes have kept me coming back for more. (And 20% off helped me to
overlook the shortcomings of their purchasing website, as well) With no more 20% codes the competition is suddenly looking better.

I think one of Performance's margin problems may be that they've been very generous in allowing that 20%-off to be applied on top of sale prices.

(BTW, I'm not yelling at the quoted poster...)

Too funny - Performance has no one to blame but themselves. I remember buying a couple of pair of shorts this spring - 25% off in the catalog. Called up to place the order, and they gave me the 25% both pair discount, gave me a buy one get the second paid half price internet special, 20% coupon code and 10% TP discount. Nothing "dishonest" - I placed the order and they accepted it.

Every time I call up, I give them the specific discount code, and they ask me "how much is that discount for?" ...

If their system is broken, it's up to them to fix it.

Could not agree more. I've spent quite a bit with this company (and became a team member as well) because of all the exposure this thread gives them. Without the 20% codes, I'd probably have been shopping elsewhere.

Mine have been all web orders, but they always come thru. Like you said, if they've got a problem with us using the codes, then don't give them out. Not that I really want that!

i dont get it. whats 'dishonest' about saving 20% off your order. I place phone/web order and they gladly accept it, so whats the deal then. I'm sure their sales would not have been as high if they would not have any coupons/special deals. Their stock prices are soo jacked up, its cheaper to buy stuff at my LBS than pay a stock price at performance. I do like their clothes thou.

And sometimes prices at other mailorder companies are lower than performance with 20% taken off. Example- this past spring i bought a Aliante saddle for $140 at CC, performance had it for $219. Another one - bought a Niterider for $229 at BB, perf.had them for regular price of $449(!). Terry?! anything?

Regular prices are jacked up, but some of their sale prices are super even without any discounts.
