Man, they must be smoking some good weed over at Performance. So I got my package today, and it includes most of what I ordered. Fortunately the expensive stuff, tires and helmet, is in there. However, it's short by 1 of 3 patch kits, 1 of 3 tubes, and a mirror. Here's the kicker: Additionally, they threw in some "thermafleece flash tights" I didn't order - I just looked these things up on their website and they're $85.
By the way - these cheap violet Michelin Pro Race tires are REALLY REALLY REALLY purple. They should be flash on my garnet bike.

I used the $10 off code and it was accepted. This was Monday. When I got the parts the next day (I live relatively close, and 2 day shipping comes in 1 day), they didn't give me my $10 off though. It was shown on the receipt I printed out, but on the receipt they sent with the parts, it wasn't on there.

I was just about to order > $1k worth of stuff. What are the chances that they will ever offer a 20% coupon again? Should I hold out or bite the bullet and just order now?
Basically, do we know yet if Performance is done for good offering coupons in the same fashion that people have used in the past (online usage)?
I'm interested in hearing what you all think.

Umm...they don't need to give out coupons if you go spending $1,000. Make them suffer. Strike!!
Really though, they might want to stop this kind of thing right now, but sales will probably go down and I'm sure they'll put out coupons eventually. Just my opinion.
The question is, how much do you need that stuff?

I placed order more than $1000. Just got a set of Ksyriums and few other DA10 parts. Got similar upgrades for a few friends of mine too. I really hope performance gives out a coupon before xmas.

Found this on another forum..............Seeker333 wrote 11-18-04
i and others would be interested to know
if you are actually receiving the stated coupon discount on your credit card bill.
i know the PBS website will indicate a discount if you go through the checkout procedure (provided you input a valid code).
i also know that PBS sends an automated email invoice reflecting the discount and all figures presented when you complete the checkout procedure.
finally and most importantly i know that PBS doesn't necessarily honor this discount when they ship your order. your paper invoice may or may not show the discount. the actual debit to your credit card will agree with the paper invoice, NOT the emailed invoice.
myself and others have recently used coupons but did not actually get the discount. some strongly fought this with PBS, some prevailed, some did not.
here's what just happened to me, and others too based on postings on the mtbr.com "hot deals" forum:
apparently, if you are a Team Performance member, when you place the order, if any of the items you happen to order are marked down, and these particular items are considered "team performance" discounted items (even though non-team-performance members can order some of these items at same price), then the coupon discount is automatically (and very quietly) voided. during the checkout and on the resulting emailed invoice it will indicate you get the coupon discount via showing a total which has included said discount. but you don't actually get the coupon discount, you get billed the non-discounted amount on your credit card.
to make matters worse, the little program that tracks your accumulated Team Performance points bases its calculation on the vitual total (minus S&H), that is the total after deducting coupon discount and any additional TP points you choose to redeem on the purchase. this results in you receiving fewer TP points than you are entitled to because your actual billed total is greater than the virtual billed total, which includes a deduction for the coupon" discount".
so, instead of getting the 20% coupon discount you believe you're getting, and the additional 10% Team Performance points you should be earning towards future purchases, you end up with no 20% discount. AND, you don't even get 10% worth of TP points, you get 8% (because the virtual total was reduced 20% by the so called coupon discount).
well, sorry for the windy explanation, but i believe that's whats going on with Performance orders. at least in my case it is (did). looks like you're better of without the TP membership. apparently non TP members can get the copon discount 20% which is obviously more than 8%.

Wish I had my invoices to check. I'm surprised they apply the 20% after sale/promo prices at all.

CRoberts - I have had this happen once. If you call Performance customer service they will ask you to fax in your emailed invoice and then they will credit your CC the overcharge. They have to honor the price at checkout on the web site because that is the price you authorized your card to be charged.

With that said, I always call to place orders, and make sure they apply all discounts. Credit card charges have always been correct.

How do you get Performance to match a competitor's price, when ordering on-line? I have done it w/ phone orders.
