shoe sizing comparison question
I'm having trouble finding a pair a shoes. Here is the thing. I have a pair of specialized BG road shoes that are a size 44 eur. they are 11 us. the size seams to run small. becuase normally is street shoes I wear a 10. new balance. so I'm trying to get some mountain bike shoes. but dont want to spend the 110 on the ones that I tried on.
so my question is how do you find the proper shoe size when you can't try them all on. is there certain brands that run small or big or wide or narrow. any input would be greatly appreciated.

Every shoe maker has their own sizing it seems. I use Nashbar's sizing chart to help me compare, but sometimes still get the wrong size. I think slorollin may have the right idea--try a few to get the right one.
