I currently ride the stock Felt saddle that came with my bike. It's not that uncomfortable but I have noticed some numbness on long rides so I'm eyeing the Specialized BG saddles.

Well that's the Concor Comfort. I have a Concor Supercorsa and as mentioned above it's a pain in the ass, quite literally. But the Comfort has more padding (which is to say, more than none), so it might be good enough. Certainly the shape of the Concor is nice. It has a little support right at the back.

for $25, it's probably worth trying out. It sure looks sweet.

I can vouch for the Specialized Body Geometry saddles. I have one of the originals on my old bike which I just love. My new bike has a Body Geometry Milano. I have not ridden it much yet but it appears to be as good as the old one. Specialized is also doing a new seat with a fitting program if you visit a dealer. I have not seen it but basically they take measurements like the width of your sit bones and put you in one of three seats. Good luck!

I love my Brooks professional. I have around 600 miles on it, without Proofhide, and patiently waiting for the leather to mold just a little bit more. Then, life will begin.

Cheers

I ride a selle italia Trans Am saddle and I love it. This is my third saddle. I had a cheap gel saddle...sucked, an old Turbo saddle...uncomfortable and now I ride the Selle Italia Trans Am and its supper comfy.

I'm running Specialized Body Geometry saddles on both my bikes. I've had the one on my commuter for about 4 years now and I still love it. The newer one on my trailbike is even better.

OK; here goes... B-17 Standard on my favorite bike, lots of old Brooks Pro & Team Pro on others. Also have old Turbos on a couple (the suede ones). The Turbo is fine for rides under 50 miles. All the above comfortable, but that B-17 was easiest to get used to. Leather is thinner than on the Pro, and broke in sooner. Been using that B-17 for two years now, and it's great on longer rides. Never any pain or numbness.

My saddle has a tiny suspention bar built into its pole!

I saw it at a local shop and HAD to buy it. Even if your bike is really crap and has no good suspention it'll take all the bumps out your ride so your bum doesn't get all bashed lol

Here. In case you didn't know what I was talking about lol I'm not crazy lol

The big bit is the saddle part and the pole part has the spring section.

That's a suspension seat post. The only thing it has to do with a saddle is the fact that it provides a means to connect the saddle to the frame.

Ah right!

Cool

I want to design my own type because I've seen how usefull the technology is.
I will use swivel bars so that more travel happens so when you rise up out the seat the seat follows you up and your back will always be supported so you want injure it.
I might try make this but it will have to be from wood because I don't know how to work with metal! lol!

What do you think?

I think Cane Creek would sue you into the stone age. Wood? You're kidding.

OMFG they got to it before me! I hope they don't succeed in the buisness world or ill be angry! lol!

But I've got a better idea now anyway so they can have it.
Using compressed air and a air bag under the saddle the rider can ride on a cushion of air and not feel all the bumps of the road.
And because it has a valve thing you can change it for BIG bumps of off-roading to on-road small bumps.
Suitable for everything and it looks really futuristic and cool!

I won't try to build this one!!!1

On my good bike, I've got an 04' WTB Laser V w/ Ti Rails.

I couldn't stand my stock seat, so I ditched it for something that looked better, felt more comfy, and was lighter.

On my crappy bike I have a POS trek seat... the leather's half gone and the foam is falling out.. but it's still comfy.. and I don't care about how this one looks.. so it's staying on there for a while.

I know really hardcore cyclists won't dig it much, but just incase there's some one really hurting from the conventional saddle, I'll get the word out about the Spongie Wonder.
This seat has got me strange looks from so many, but it's great, and I'll be capable into my 90's. No soreness no matter how far or long I ride, and never once had any sort of numbness.

mine is gipiemme concept g-124 carbon fiber saddle, so called 124 grams, it's really thin and with the 6-4 ti tube rails.

I ride a Selle Nitrox gel but I find that it isn't the best of choices on century rides. I keep it around because it is light. On my other ride I use a Vetta Tri Shock that is very comfortable.

I tried a Terry body geometry type saddle for a couple of years and gave up because the stitching irritated the hell out of me.

For my looong rides, rides that will encounter rough road surfaces and rides where comfort is paramount, a Brooks B-17 is underneath my butt. Otherwise a Brooks Professional is used. I have four Brooks saddles.
