It would pretty cool on a cyclocross bike, which is what it's meant for: https://www.ritcheylogic.com/dyn_category.php?k=307251
The hanger doesn't come on the "road" headsets: https://www.ritcheylogic.com/dyn_category.php?k=98560

But not on a cyclocross bike with cantilever brakes..

Road bike? there are other headsets for those, from same companies.

If they sold you a cyclocross-specific headset for a "road" bike, well... the headset's not the problem. The salesman is.
