Well it was sent USPS, there is your answer, they don't track for the most part. If it was sent UPS ground, they will let it set in a warehouse for three days 20 miles from your house, just so they can deliver 'on time'...But you can track it... . I do agree that Nashbar should state in their shipping page that they ship USPS as Performance does, but ripping a company for shipping USPS just because you can't get a tracking number when they are discounting a shoe 70% is a little much. If they would have sent it UPS ground you wouldn't have it till today anyway.

"You get what you pay for" applies to shipping, too. Your complaint about parcel post sounds like someone complaining that their Wally World bike isn't as fast as a Colnago. If you order something via parcel post, give the USPS enough time for the donkey cart to reach you.

In the end, you're getting a pair of $130 shoes for $46.45 (including parcel post shipping). That seems like a good deal to me. For another $3.00, you could have received them in two days. Next time, pay the extra $3.00 for 2-day shipping. It looks like delays bug you as much as they bug me, so it's worth the money.

As to deleting this thread, I think it's become an advertisement for Nashbar. One person has complained. Many others have said they think Nashbar is a good company. Overall, this thread makes Nashbar look good.

I use nashbar & performance, I am cheap I use the ground shipping, my only ever complaint was performance charged my cc then did not ship for two weeks. They refunded my shipping.

I have learnt ground service can take up to two weeks, one week is normal, if I wanted it quicker I would pay for shipping upgrade, you get what you pay for with shipping.

Also I have never had a problem returning an item.

Never had a complaint with Nashbar. If I'm impatient to get something I pay the extra for priority shipping. That's why USPS is called "snail-mail". Simple.

Agreed...in this day and age an online store that doesn't provide you with tracking information is just being lazy. I have also found Nashbar to be slow compared to the other guys. When I called their customer service I got the vocal equivalent of 'meh' in response. Wasn't impressed, especially after all the favorable comments.

You will get a tracking # if you upgrade your shipping to 2day or faster. They'll use FedEx for 2 day or faster and you get a tracking #. If you choose ground, they'll use USPS and the postal service won't give Nashbar a tracking #, so you don't get one either. It's like dropping a letter in the mailbox; you cross your fingers and hope the post office does it's job! I've ordered both ways and the ground shipping is a little frustrating because you can't where the heck your package is, but it is cheap.

Bwaahaahaha, what a bunch of whinners. Nashbar is great. You made too many assumptions in your order. Nashbar does not use UPS, they use USPS. You'll need to shell out three more dollars if you want express delivery.

If you are looking for someone to blame don't blame Nashbar, they shipped your product they exact way you asked them and by your own admission they did it on time (2/1).

Be patient.I like having things delivered USPS if I have to pick it up(as often happens)I just go to the Post office(1 mile away)as opposed to the UPS distribution center (8 miles away)I like dealing with Nashbar, plus thier prices are great.

I joined Team Performance AFTER I placed my first order with them . The order was about 170 bucks, so I called the next day and asked if I could get points for the previous purchase. They said "sure", so the points and the shipping upgrade paid the 20.00 Team membership. They ship all the Team stuff out second day fed-ex and I almost always get it the next day here in Arkansas, plus you get 10% of the value in the form of points you can apply to future orders. It keeps you coming back, but can make some sale items ridiculously cheap. You've got to work 'em to get the best deals sometimes, but they've always come through for me. I bought some Triflex tights, wore them 3 times and hated them. Performance happily allowed me to return them . I love my LBS, but I don't know if they'd accept the return of a pair of tights with 60-70 saddle miles and a little dog hair on them. Good luck and keep on riding. I've enjoyed your progress reports.

how do you expect a tracking number when you CHOOSE shipper that does not provide tracking services?

i really dont understand how some people operate ....

now if there ever was a valid complaint about shipping, it should be for UPS ground... they've been consistently slow... i bought 2 items from 2 vendors in new york that was shipped on the 3rd... right now, on the 8th, their tracking system shows both packages still in Illinois... now that's bad.

anyways, i love fed ex, usps priority, and nashbar

Sometimes I'm impatient but if i'm just ordering stuff like powerbars or spare tubes or something, I just choose whatever's cheapest and let it run. I'll forget about it and it'll be a nice surprise when I get it.

They basically charged me to send back a defective frame I ordered, and then on top of that it took two weeks to arrive in the first place, so I'm done with them too.

Seems like your issue is with the USPS and not Nashbar.
Ever since Lance told them to get bent they have been slow to deliver bike related packages.
Enjoy

Pssst...I did upgrade the shipping. And I operate like a customer. I like getting a confirmation that my order has shipped including a tracking number. So blow me.

I'm becoming more disgruntled with Nashbar. When I started using them years ago, I could have stuff shipped UPS (regular ground) and get it in 3 days. Lately, it takes up to a week for them to put my stuff in a truck. Last time, I forgot to fill in a field in the online order form. When the screen bounced me back, I didn't notice that it reverted the fields to my old address; so it went out to the wrong place. Then, they didn't confirm my order, so it was gone for a week before I found out the problem. They wouldn't reship until it came back as undeliverable. Twenty day round trip there. I finally got my order, over 3 weeks after placing it. Yeah, partially my fault, but

I was alluding to the original poster's complaint of a lack of tracking number. You neither explicitly stated nor implied that you upgraded your shipping. Anger management and communication problems dont go well
