I've ordered things from Nashbar, Jenson and Danscomp so far.. all 3 have shipped pretty fast with the cheapest possible shipping option.

Point is, you're whining about something so insignificant in the scheme of life.
In the hallway? I live in a house...FYI...and no I wasn't home. I was at work. I got home @ 5pm and they were here...they weren't here @ 11am....so you do the math.

I made a post in the MTB forums...I got out on em tonight and then walked in them at the mall to see how they felt. Besides having every single person staring at me with my shoes going *clop clop clop* they worked fine and were surprisingly more comfy than the first time I remember sticking my foot in them.

Supreemo, How do they run for sizing? I was looking at the Adidas myself, but I am leery of buying shoes onliine since one company's 10.5 is another's 11. I hate having to ship stuff back, and the LBS's around here don't stock many shoes.
Thanks for any help.

Thats one heck of a way to break your shoes in. Good thing you didn't buy road shoes, I hate walking anywhere in those things

Maybe he's peddlin in illegal rubber strips. The thicker ones can fetch a pretty penny.

That sucks, I thought you had a desk job man.
85 doesn't sound that bad, it was over 90 in the soup kitchen where I worked and the place was huge and ventilated.

Bikes: 8 bikes - one for each day of the week!

I'm just going to say that a lot of my gear gets sent by boat to me in Australia, and I've waited up to 3 months. A few days or a week is no big deal.

You know it. Of course I refuse to take some one who's speaks of themselves in the third person seriously

That's great! I could only wish for an LBS to match prices with Nashbar/Performance/Supergo. I'd go there everytime as opposed to ordering it online. That sounds like a sweet deal. I have a feeling as more and more shops feel the strain from advances in technology (i.e. the internet) and people's shopping habbits they will have to 1) start matching prices or 2) go out of business. It's ashame but that's how it works.

I still buy some things from the LBS...that are closely pricematched...but are you kidding me...100 dollars for pedals I got for 50 online? I just can't do that...it's not even wise shopping.

It's a shame that you, and many others on this board don't realize the economics involved. Because of the huge differences in economies of scale between mail order places and your LBS, not to mention all the grey market and OEM crap they pull, there's no way your LBS can compete on many items. That's not going to change...we don't have the ability to dictate pricing to our suppliers. Now there is a sense of entitlement to huge discounts, so when a manufacturer like Shimano tries to limit the discounts that can be applied to their product without engaging in any price fixing, people put up a big stink. In the end, everyone's product is devalued and more LBS head out of town. Since when did selling products at retail equate to a crime?
Matching prices on many items isn't a luxury your LBS can afford-selling items at or below cost isn't an effective business model.

Well this thread has gone were threads of a similar topic always go but...Nashbar is what it is. If you choose their base shipping (this goes for Performace and Supergo too) you get what they pick from USPS, UPS ground or FedEx ground. Typically you also get to wait a few days for them to ship the item. But what you never get at the LBS are things like I ordered this weekend. Pair of MTB shoes that retails for $129 for $39 and an $80 saddle that is blemished for $10. Top it off with a 10% discount and the price can't even remotely be challanged by the LBS.
