Bike Jacket.
I have an old New Balance wind breaker that I have worn for years and years when I need a light jacket. It's a pull-over with a hood that zips way down low and provide great ventilation when I'm riding. Unfortunately this combination of billowy torso and voluminous hood makes a great big, giant sail when peddling into a headwind.
It's time for a change.
WHat I'm looking for is good advice on a reasonably priced shell that is very water repellent that would be a good outer layer for cycling. If I can cross-use it for hiking even better. Do any of you have experience with the dizzying array of brands and models out there? My local cycle shops are kind of light in the clothing department and I'm not interested in buying "whatever they happen to have laying around".

Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.
I bought some Craft rain jackets for me and Mrs. Grouch several years ago. They breathe well yet repel rainwater. They are also my go-to outer layer in colder weather. We both love them. Not cheap though.
