Cornering safety

Well, I've got myself hurt today while riding on my bike. I was cornering slightly faster than usually today and the road was rather wet. Then, this guy was doing his stretching round the corner. I guess I would not really have hit him if I continued the same way, but then, the considerate me decided to turn away just a little and there! I slide across and bruised my knee caps and my left elbow. Oh OUCHHH!

However, there the guy was, not even trying to help me up when I was just in front of him. ARRGGH! It would quite painful to even stand up, then I adjusted my bike a little and ride off. After a while, I stopped and the lights and there he was behind me, laughing at my misfortune, oh my, really hated it. The next time I see him, I would really have slide into him, see how he's gonna laugh anymore.

Anyway, I'm now resting (in front of the screen) with my wounds dress. Guess I wouldn't be riding the bike for quite some time, haven't been for the past week and now when I resume cycling, I have to stop again.

Now into the topic(HEHE) :
How would you guys corner if you see an obstacle like the fat ass I see and if the road is quite wet? Any advice to this rider who will be thinking a lot of what has happened? Hope it will bring some insight to other riders as well!

A piece of advice from me : Don't mind riding over a person if you really don't want to get yourself hurt!

You might have been hurt worse hitting him.

But sorry you were hurt. Since you made it home I'll bet you will be out riding soon.

Throw your TV at him and read a bicycle repaire book.

I guess the best way to know what to do when a hard maneuver is required is to practice with plyons in a vacent parking lot.

Yeah, I could really have been hurt worse!

Anyway, I can't imagine that my bike can even go over a guy like him. Also, just not long ago, I discovered that I could bend back my Shimano brake lever that was bent quite badly. Anyone have any idea what material is that made off?

Its hard to do anything once you commit to a corner and your traction is reduced. This may be because of rain, dust or camber.

Lean into the curve then throw yourself to the outside of the curve (assuming that no car is coming towards you!!), and you will change direction ( to collide with the outside edge of the curve). Dont brake until you are on a straight line.

I try to pick a line so I enter curves wide, near the edge of my lane.

I think you've answered your own question there.
