32 miles Malabar Farm Road Race. Raced Masters class finished 8th, rode well, mechanical issue (self-inflicted chain loss) caused me to dismount. Could not get caught up, the wind didn't help me. Rode in with the leading 4's. Found Allegheny and introduced myself after the race. It's nice to see other +50 riders racing. Next week.........??

3/27, 111 miles today on Eric's training ride, 21 Degrees at the start of the ride and it was a hilly one to boot, I'm reading alot about wind being an issue here in Ohio and although we had some it was well within reason.
This was Tina's longest ride ever by 8 miles and the coldest she has ever started out in, she rode great. I overheard one rider comment (didn't know I was her husband) that "that girl must be nothing but muscle as thin as she is". She repeatedly dropped this guy on every climb. If it sounds like I'm bragging, well, I AM!! LOL

After today I can not say that I have neither seen or picked up a sub 12 lb bike, including pedals and cages on it, and the guy riding it only weighs 130 lbs on his fattest day!

Killer NNE wind today, 27 mph according to weather.com
Found my new max heart rate (181) whilst headed north @ 12 mph.
Got chased by dogs 4 different times out on Ashley road between Caton farm
and Platteville roads. I dropped the 1st, 2nd, & 4th with no problem, number
three was way out in front of me and forced me off the road. Some sort
of St. Bernard mix I think, easily 150 lbs. We stood at a stalemate for 5 minutes
or so with me hollering at him (?) to go home, finally he reluctantly retreated.
I've ridden Ashley many times and have never even seen a dog, go figger.
Cheers,
Kelly

3/28 Sunday - 24 miles dodging the raindrops...timed the ride perfectly. It started to rain again when I pulled back into the driveway. 25 tougher than they should have been miles today...the cold north wind made me suffer plus I was underdressed. Ah yes...the warm air is on the way.....
Allegheny....my son did win the junior race Saturday. He has not had much time on the bike with basketball and now baseball season. Young legs......

3/29 26 miles, 3/30 35 miles, both a bit chillier than I would have liked, but well within reason for the end of March

3/30 - 35.4 miles
Rode down RRGT to Jefferson, then south on Houbolt to I&M Canal Trail. Took trail to Dresden Access (trail was actually closed at the short path that leads to the Dresden Lock & Dam site due to minor construction at the dam itself - was able to walk around the big red garbage disposal bin and continued on). Then rode up McLindon into Minooka area. Had early dinner then rodeback east to access trail again at I-55 Frontage Rd. off Shepley. Looks like W. Frontage Rd. bridge over canal about to get redone which will reduce traffic to 1 lane and possibly close the trail underneath it. From there, took trail back to Houbolt and went north and headed home from there. Just the start of maybe 4 days in a row of riding as the temp is supposed to be in the 70's the rest of the week.

3/31 45 miles, nice easy ride, just out enjoying life! 4/1 Akron Bike club thursday slugfest, went out early to get in some extra miles before the ride and to get some hill time on the Cervelo. 45 miles total. The ride was it's usual kill or be killed and tonight it was my turn to put the hurt on people! The S2 was spectacular, the thing just flies up hills, even with the standard gearing (that took some getting use to, My Trek is a compact).
