Problem is stud count. I ride Nokian Extremes and have never had an issue--- and we have no shortage of ice in the winter (more ice than snow).

The trouble with your logic is that if there is too much snow to reach the ice, your knobbies work just fine. You generally don't need studs at all for snow... which is effectively what you have in this case.

OMG....I can tell from that photo that you're getting fat!!!! Yippee!!! Along with my illness induced weight loss and your gain, I might be able to actually hang with you for, say, 5 miles! (Insert laughing emoticon....can't get my emoticons to work!)

Filter, I think you are 100% correct. If I were to do it again, I would go with the same size tires, just more studs.

You've always been at a lack for studs. You have a burning desire...and the only thing that will quench it is more studs.

See you at the TT tomorrow CC.

Daughters birthday. Party at the US gymnastics training center and sleepover tonight, family party tomorrow.

Besides, I'm 2/3 the way through a bottle of wine to deal with the chaos. No chance I'm riding tomorrow.

You going tomorrow? IN wheaton. Mostly booked up, but I am signing up at 7:30 and can probably book you a spot.
