Cleveland, Ohio Spring plans

What's everyone planning for when the snow melts? (Tired of riding in my living room.)

What group rides or events?

Anyone interested to start a group or anything?

I'm not exactly in Cleveland, but I'm in the area. And I feel your pain - this weather is killing me. I've been out on the fat bike a bit, but the crusty snow we had through much of February was not conducive to bicycle riding.

Going to do a little bit of touring this summer with my son down on the Greenbriar Trail in WV. Plus a ton of mountain biking.

The only group (besides CAMBA for mountain bikers) that I know of is Cleveland Touring Club:

Cleveland Touring Club - Cleveland Touring Club

Coshocton, Oh. Planning to go to Florida in March for a tour. Then there's the GOBA here in Ohio in June. I'd also like to ride the Allegheny Gap Trail Pittsburg to Washington sometime later this summer, maybe clear out to the coast. Need to find a riding mate for that.

Rode to work today to get a few miles in. Problem is, now i have to ride home again. Cold!!

I am in Ashtabula County and will be creating some covered bridge tours this spring. If you have Facebook, here's my page so you can keep up with any group rides...........

Here is a thread of the loop I enjoy and will be doing this several times this summer..................

I'm always interested in a ride! PM me, please, should you get a group or group ride going.

I might try one of Johny's bridge tours. I don't do the social media thing, so hooking up with him may be a challenge.

A few trips into Town to ride with the Ohio City Bike Co-op group, and possibly the Indians Opening Day ride and game. Maybe a couple out here to the east with the Lake Metroparks crowd.

I live just west of Cleveland in Avon and I am ALWAYS up for a ride.... road or mountain. There is a pretty good online ride schedule our area at 2015 Ohio Bicycle Tours | Ohio Bicycle Events Calendar
If you enjoy weekly group rides Spin Bike Shop (my employer) has a terrific Wednesday evening group ride for all skill levels.

The Ashtabula Covered bridge tour is fun. I also enjoy Sunday in June, which occurs the second Sunday in June, starts and ends in Burton, Ohio, and is sponsored by the Cleveland Touring Club. There are options for 25, 50, 65 and 100 mile supported rides through Ohio Amish Country with rolling hills.
Also, I like the Dog Days Winery Tour, on July 18, that is sponsored by the Silver Wheels Cycling Club. There are route options of 37, 46, 74, 100 and 125 miles. All new routes this year as well as a ride one way, shuttle back option that allows riders to visit two wineries. The ride is fully supported with rest stops at wineries and on the road.

Looks like there is a charity ride on May 30th in Ashtabula along the Western Reserve trail if you wanna ride for a cause..............

District 6630 - Ashtabula Cluster Plans Rotary Days Event

The Western Reserve trail is a really nice ride and you don't need to join a club ride to check it out. The trail is part of the Covered Bridge loop also. I did a 20 mile stretch and back on a day off and took some pics...........
