Please help if you can!!! I need a frame for my Giant Escape 1 Disc!!

Hello,

I recently bought a giant escape 1 with disc brakes, and it was vandalized 2 months later while traveling. Giant does not have extra frames to sell at the moment so it means id have to buy a whole new full bike. DOES ANYBODY HAVE A GIANT ESCAPE 1 FRAME for sale??? or another option??

Are you sure all the parts are intact? How was it vandalized damaging the frame but bot the RD, FD etc.? Were those surgeon vandals that made great effort to not damage the fragile moving pars, but ruined the sturdy frame?
I don't know how much giant would charge for a frame, but if you just have to buy 2-3 other parts, it may be cheaper to buy a new bike. You can sell the intact parts of the vandalized bike.

Sorry I'm not actually answering your question. But i thought some other perspective may save you some money and hassle. It also takes quite some time to swap all parts.

You do not need a Giant Escape frame in particular, do you? Any frame that takes 700c disc wheels will do. Just look on eBay or at your LBS for a suitable used frame.

How was the original vandalized? Most of the time when someone does a frame swap it is because of a crack in the original. How did the vandals wreck your frame? What components were destroyed? Pics would help peolple here get a better idea of what you need.

Check your home or rental insurance. They may cover you for a new bike, but it will require a police report. Bike brands like Giant, Trek and such don't typically stock up on hybrid bike frames since many of these bikes are considered disposable.

But like others have stated, check frames from eBay, Amazon and even Nashbar:

Bike Frames | Mountain, Road & Cyclocross | Bike Nashbar

Heh, even Home Depot is now selling frames, which was an entirely different thread and many of us wouldn't suggest buying those cheap things.

frame was smashed in with force, and thus caused a separation on cross bar to handlebar stem. it won't let me post pictures since I'm new---weird? . Yea i can change the frame with another, but i think its harder than finding one that just takes 700 wheels. I am open to all things, i might be buying a new identical bike and just hold all the parts for when i need them, The bike still rides.

Yeah, I think you need at least 10 posts before you can post pictures or web links. I do think it'll be much easier to find another bike. The fortunate part for you is you have a bike with good parts on it, so you could find a used bike of your choice that might need some love and pick it up for cheap. As long as the frame is straight and clean, you can change all the other stuff with parts from your Giant.

Good luck!

No that frame is designed for cantilever brakes only.
