Funny thing happened to me on saturday...

I was riding to my aunt's house near Brussels and there was a tough constant headwind coming from the east that day.
The whole trip is about 25 miles and it's a long and open road ... I could see the flags of the companies by the side of the road waving rapidly in my direction.
It's difficult to judge the speed of the wind while riding a bike but it seemed like a very heavy wind ... I was pumping the pedals like a madman to even maintain a speed of 13-15 MPH.

Arriving in Ninove after about 10 miles I was completely wasted and decided to take a short break and get my breath back ... so I was sitting on a bench in the local park, drinking some water ... when suddenly I noticed ... that one of the springs on my rear V-brakes wasn't attached and so the brake had been pressed against the wheel all this time!
I had just completely washed my bike before driving out and apparently it had come off.

You can imagine I felt like a complete idiot

The rest of the drive was a lot easier although the headwind did still slow me down quite a bit.

This morning I had to go up to the north end of Kyoto. Some of the cherry blossoms were still in bloom.

Pretty pictures. What's a rosebowl? Is it a village garden or similar?

Edit... I just googled it. A stadium d(^.^)

Wow, Kyoto is really beautiful. Wisconsin and Illinois are still looking pretty early spring drab, hope some color kicks in soon.

Bummer! When I first bought my wife a mountain bike with disc brakes we went for a ride together. She kept telling me how hard it was to ride. I just looked at her and shook my head. After several miles we stopped, I picked up her bike and tried to spin the front wheel. It barely moved, the brake was engaged the whole time! Ooops!

Forget today what about tomorrow, I'm going to ride along the adelaide coast tomorrow with my pinny.
I need a break from my vintage project.

26 mi round trip to school. I had my phone in my pocket the entire time and didn't even once think of taking a picture. I averaged 11.5 mph a personal best for this route (I think it's up hill... both ways!)

Haha! Good ride! You don't need to post pictures, we believe you.
Uphill both ways!

I rode to Washington DC today about six miles each way and maybe another 12 miles on the job (slow day).

Pennsylvania Avenue.

This is part of the ride I did today. I filmed this about 2 months ago on my toaster of a phone. It is the same trail I did today, but it is the latter part of it (or the beginning, depending which direction I'm going; but in this case it was the latter). I did 10 miles on it. The bike I had when I filmed this was my dad's Diamondback cruiser. I hated it. Now I have a decent K2 Hybrid.

Link to the video of part of the ride: https://s736.photobucket.com/albums/x...t=IMG_0433.mp4

I often do the Cherry Creek trail here in Denver, and here is a video of the Cherry Creek trail (I recorded it with intention to put it on my other favorite forum, MacRumors):

Cherry Creek Trail in Downtown Denver:

A block down from the 16th street mall in Downtown Denver (I had to lock it up here, because last time I rode my bike on the mall, a police officer told me to dismount it):

At the Apple Store at the Cherry Creek mall in Denver, comparing thickness between the black iPhone 4 and the white one:

Beautiful. Reminds me of summer camp . What kind of tires do you have if you're doing that kind of terrain?
