Hmmm... that's definitely an interesting point worth considering. You might want to search the forums for discussion on that model. Well, if the weight is a problem for you then you could always go for my first love, the Misceo!

OK -- I am now leaving the forums! Been playing hooky to long -- back to work!

Hey vivithemage, which ever one you choose, try and take it on a test ride to make sure it fits you. When I was looking the LBS guys put me on a medium frame and it fit great but I liked the looks of another bike that was a large frame. The bike guys told me it would be to big but I insisted on test riding it and when I did, I felt like I was stretched out on it and the seat was all the way down. So in other words they knew what they were talking about but let me see for myself anyway. I ended up getting the medium because it fit so much better. So try and test ride as many as you can that you like. Well got to go get some riding in before it gets dark. Let us know which one you get. Later....

just tested out 3 bikes in 2 different sizes each ... loved the Marin 23er

https://www.marinbikes.com/2011/bike_...?serialnum=885

Liked it a lot, much better components then the other. I also snagged it for $599...only 2 shops had em in stock, the rest couldn't even order them, so I feel good about it.

Thanks all for the help

qsmdc, what bike did you get?
2010 Marin Bobcat Trail. MTB, not hybrid. Yours looks lighter, with the rigid fork. I hope it is. Enjoy the ride!

Congratulations on your purchase! I'm sure you'll love it! Did you end up swapping out tires or add on anything? There's a thread for posting pics so make sure you do that!

100% stock, I am wondering though, what slicks can I get on there? The current tires are a bit gripper for my liking/road.

Just picked up my 2012 Cannondale Bad Boy this week. Only have about 9 miles on it so far but I am loving it! I have had my eye on them for some time now and just solde my Cannondale F5 mountain bike on craigslist in order to get this one. It is SO much faster than the F5. Not sure why other people say their LBS is taking so long to get the 2012 Bad Boy as I went in the middle of July and they called and ordered mine while I was standing there and said it would be in the mid of Aug and it was.

Not sure, only one Cannondale shop in Minnesota ... Eriks, and they said December, or later. Still a slick bike, but I am loving the 29er for sure.

I fell in love with the look and wanted to love it, but the geometry was not right for my body. So sad.
I took one for a ride a few weeks ago. They're a nice bike. Perfect for commuting or a fitness bike. It's amazing what $500 buys these days.
