Problems with 3 mo. old Jamis Coda comp

How uncommon is it to have a defective bottom bracket, a defective hub, a defective pedal, and a bent derailleur hanger on a new bike? I just had to have all of these either replaced or fixed and I've ridden the bike a total of 200 mi. since Feb. when I bought it. Oh, and before I'd ridden it for the first time I had to have the front brake replaced because a screw to adjust the brake pad wouldn't screw in. They gave me a new brake, which doesn't match the rear brake, but I'm told is better. Just wondering how big a deal this all is. I just wanna ride the bike but Jamis wouldn't replace the whole rear wheel, they told the owner of the shop to order a new hub which will now take a week to come in. Any thoughts, comments on my situation would be appreciated.

I don't think you can blame the bent derailleur hangar on Jamis but everything else is odd to haved failed so quickly. The bottom bracket, pedal and brake could possibly have been from poor assembly at the LBS. I say possibly because I believe the bike arrives at the shop mostly assembled and they just tune it prior to delivery. The nice thing about bikes is they are mechanically simple and since you've replaced over half the moving parts there's not much left that can break The rear wheel is a bummer but there's not a ton of profit margin in an $800 bike so I can't fault the bike shop for making you wait

This sounds more like a Specialized story...

From what I've known about Jamis, they've always had an excellent CS department. As a matter of fact, whenever you call their CS contact number, they always make certain that things are done correctly, professionally, and in a timely manner.

God! That almost sounds like there's just too many things to go wrong! Don't worry...

I'm sure Jamis will bring you satisfaction on this deal.

Jamis is an excellent company! You'll see...

Bikes: I've lost my mind!

I've had my Coda Comp for about a month and had zero problems with it. Hope you get this rezolved quickly, and get back on the road trouble free. I have replaced the saddle however, the Selle that came with it didn't work for me. It's still in brand new condition if anyone might be interested!

Sorry for all the problems you're dealing with. That sucks.

Did you buy this new from a bike shop that is a Jamis dealer?

I did, and they've been great. There were only two places in town where I could get a Jamis and I chose them because they were more helpful.

I'm just kinda worried more will go wrong.

Did YOU, contact Jamis Customer Support or did the LBS, do it for you?? I had a Jamis MTB, that developed a "hairline" crack in a frame weld, not only did they replace the frame, they gave me the new frame from the, "next step up" the ladder MTB!! I have two new (2012, 2011 leftover) Jamis flat bar road bikes and both now have 1000 miles on them and they've been excellent! Hope you can get this solved asap.
