Need to get that fire lit for next year. Last year before I move into the 55's.
Big M one of them, I take it?

We think alike, Jet. I always wonder what they think about construction trucks and such. Makes you ask:

In counties south of me and around our cabin in Western PA the roads are infested with em'. There is no more helpless feeling than climbing a long hill with two big water hauling 18 wheelers following about 20' behind and hitting the throttle while being under geared. Makes one feel like they will be road kill anytime. I think they always travel in pairs for backup due to all the issues they create.

Yessir. Can't split up Kato and the Green Hornet.

New team is a great opportunity to ride with some big talent and pick some brains about track from a guy who raced Keiran in Japan.

That field is crazy deep. A ton of the 45+ races are won by the 50+ guys, and I've counted 10 guys from the same team in a 100+ person field.

It's going to be bombastic I tell ya.

You young guys are depressing me.

Going to Vegas to race (ride) up Mt. Charleston on Saturday. Taking Monday off so we don't have to battle traffic coming home. Will start getting serious about training in November.

Rain tonight and tomorrow with 40-50 mph wind. I leave for the Iceman tomorrow first thing and get back Sunday evening after doing a second ride in MI. Monday's yard work will be interesting when the rest of the leaves fall.

I've got to make it down to SoCal when Ex's team is on the road just so I can feel the ground shake when they roll by. Awesome!

Here's the CAAD in the Prius. That car is cavernous!

Throw down on the Niners in Superbowl and tip the Latvian strippers in rubles.

My love for the Niners only goes as far as liking the fact that the Giants have beat them more in the playoffs than vice-verse. Also, I thought you were advocating hookers and hoagies (or something like that). Have you pick up a new constituency group?

We did not have many trick or treaters last night. My wife thought we did not have enough candy and I bought more in preparation for the onslaught. I have a box left and I will take it to the gym tonight and give it to the employees.... better them than me.

I had a nurse friend text me that he liked Halloween because it was the only day in the year when he could legally ask 6 year old boys if they wanted some candy. Then he said he was going to a Halloween Party in a streaker costume. The sick ****. He's a lot of fun!

Dog washing interval. Ridley rolled in some stinky green I don't want to know in the yard. Comforter off to dry cleaners and we now have a really fluffy clean smelling Chessie.

Gotta say she dries up quick.

We once had a mutt that was half black lab and she loved to go swimming in the neighboring farmer's flooded rice field...after it was fertilized. Luckily, it mostly rinsed off with a garden hose. She was definitely an "outside" dog.

I hit a big ol pothole on my commute a couple nights ago, and hurt a rim beyond repair. The sad thing is, it still stops smoother than the Kinlin XR-300 on the front. To be honest, I can't wait to install the new rims, as these have just been crap from day one. I should have listened to valygrl.

They are both Kinlin's, and though the rear never had the seam/pulsation issue the front does, it was never in true more than two weeks at a time. I picked up a set of 23mm wide BikeHubStore house rims, as these are just Powertap equipped trainers.

Bummer. I didn't see where you were having that problem too. My rear Kinlin has my powertap in it, and it's going fine (this is the replacement rim) and the front one is pulse-y and is relegated to my backup bike / pit wheel.

The best dog we ever had was half black lab and half standard poodle. Now that's the hot thing in dogdom, but we just thought of Skippy as a big ol' mutt. Smartest, bravest, bestest ol' mutt ever.

I've just never been impressed with those rims. I've had a few sets and they were always needing work; out of true a lot, easily damaged, not all that well made.

There's a lot of folks that swear by Mavic Open Pro's, but some of the same people have the same issues I had with them...cracking around the spoke holes.

I finally came over to the philosophy that you have everyday wheels, and you have race wheels. Hard to beat Shimano Ultegra/Dura stuff for the former; I'm riding a set of Dura tubeless right now and I just get on them and ride. Cone bearings, straight pull spokes, sturdy rims. All that's worth 1/5th a water bottle of water.

Race wheels are a different story, thought I'm seriously looking at Shimano's 2nd gen 50mm clincher and going with Stans and a tubeless set up for crits.
