Best nose wipes I've ever seen. I might never buy another bow of kleenex. The beer ride won't be for 1-2 months so you have plenty of time to heal. I would try a little Irish whiskey.

I have! In preparation for my appointment, I was going back through some e-mails I sent my sister, and I realize now that I have been sick for a month! Hopefully I'll get some good drugs today.

Who else got out and enjoyed the wind yesterday?

I did the B&A from Annapolis to the Ranger Station at Earleigh Heights and back. The way there sucked, the way back was better.

Last nights wind was tough but better than this mornings cold. 18F at the start. Yesterday I was almost blow to the curb twice by huge gust of winds.

+1 Ouch. I was foolishly underdressed for my 14mi to work. (thin gloves, no balaclava)
The descents were so painful, I had one hand over my face. I was wishing I had taken my hilly route just to warm up.

On a good note: I was excited to start commuting the whole way home last night now that we've got sunlight till almost 6pm! Spring's a comin'. -GB

March 9 is the time change. Meaning group rides in the evening during the week!!!

And the ride this afternoon could be a bit chilly... since it is still only around 34... I am ready for the questions "Did you really wear all of that at once?"

Man you're crazy. No balaclava and thin gloves...I wore it all today. Mountaineering gloves, thick poly top, wool sweater, wind vest and jacket, even wind block Craft boxers. Mr. Johnson thanked me. I too saw a glimpse of light at both ends of the commute.

I spend last night installing a new to me Polar power meter on my bike and then riding rollers until 10:30pm.

Tonight - More of the same (except earlier) and its interval night!

The wind yesterday and today was great, yeah right. I have no idea how I can be riding directly into the wind both to and from work, 2 days in a row, !. Takes nearly 6 minutes longer to get home thats crazy.

Nice, I can't wait until I get my new bike in June/July. Getting a powermeter is part of my plan. I will have a set budget, and I want a powermeter within it. So hopefully the bike shop I end up going to can help me out with a great deal.

I will in Charleston, SC at that time

I was out and about the other night and saw a flyer for a Tour de Cure running out of Ellicott City on June 7th. Since it's in my area and diabetes runs in my family, I thought I'd give it a try, pending work doesn't send me out of town. Has anybody here done this, or perhaps is planning on participating this year? I'm just looking for some sort of opinion as to how well this thing is organized.

Pretty bike! I love the TCR's. Still kicking myself for not getting one. But at least mine is close.

2005 OCR C3. With Ritchey fork (I cracked the original fork last fall).

Nice ride derath!
Was the fork covered under a warranty? Are those Continental Tires? What kind?

No. The OCR line doesn't have any crash replacement warranty. I even tried to buy a Giant fork but they don't keep them in stock for my model. What you get for not getting a higher end racing frame I guess.

Yea they are Continental Ultra race 700x23

I don't have a picture of my bike (that I can find) but this is what I feel like I'm riding when I ride with BikerHiker:

The Civil War Century

Riders Limited to 1600 and NO Walk-in Registration. Please, Register Early

I though some of you would like to know about the change this year.

PS. We really can use some additional volunteers.

Why the change I wonder.

Basically the CWC had some problems last year and that's the number of riders the committee feels it can handle with the number of volunteers they have.

I sure will. This would make 2 centuries I can do in Sept. I did the Back Roads Century put on by the Potomac Peddlers last year. And will be doing again this year. Thanks for posting the info for us..

Attention: Arbutus, Catonsville & Lansdowne (Dist. 12a)

It looks like the 3 foot bubble bill (HB 143) is in real trouble in the House Environmental Matters Committee. The problem seems to be Delegate James Malone, the Vice Chair.

His issue is the same old story - how will a motorist get around a bike with 3 feet to spare if the bicyclist is "hogging the road".
