Shimano Deore XT RD issue
Last Friday I dropped my chain three times on my commute to work. Thought it was the cages sticking and not adding tension. Turns out it's an issue with the clutch mechanism and I'm not the first to experience this.
I pulled everything apart and have a pretty good idea of how everything works and what I need to lube, but the first step is to get the round chain tensioner part back on the peg. I can't seem to do this. They peg is smooth, inside of this part is splined. Peg has something black on it - rust? Worn in grime?
No matter what I try, can't seem to seat this "donut" piece on the peg. What am I doing wrong? Anyone experience this?
