Got a few good rides in on Monday and Tuesday while I was in Austin and Kerrville. For you roadies that like hills Kerville was more than I could stomach I gave up after 5 miles and my legs were toast!! In Austin I road the greenbelt at Zilker and then Walnut Creek I believe it was. All I have to say is the riding in that area beats the **** out of what we call trails here in DFW and they actually have hills!!

craigcraigcraig 11-04-09 10:58 PM

ya! walnut creek is awesome.

MindlessDeviant 11-04-09 11:10 PM

I cant wait till I move down there, that riding is so much better and there are so many trails that are available out there!

Cool, I've actually been to Walnut Creek but not on a bike. Nice park though.

Horizon Ridge to Bur Sage trail. I was late to work, but got a great ride. Everything is covered with dust. We need some rain.

Remember to scope out those leaf covered LZ's before hopping off, okay kids?

Leaf covered hole sucked in my front wheel yesterday. Just enough to make me Superman for a bit, and smack my hand on a nice pointy rock.
Nicely ecchymotic and painful today.

Crap no. It's my wedding ring. Wifey got the size a bit off, and it only fits on that finger. I like it just the way it is, so wear it that way.

Home from Boston this afternoon + work tonight = time only for a short ride at the default trails.

The new ride is sweet. The 70mm stem is just a touch long on that frame (slightly longer TT than the Peyto) so I may toss the 50mm I have hanging around on for comparison. With my luck it'll feel best in between and I'll have to pick up a decent 60mm.

11.6 Saturday, Bur Sage South Loop, 15.3 Sunday, added the north loop as well. I had the privilege of showing a 30 something on a FS Specialized the shortcut home. He couldn't keep up with the "old dude" on a HT. I feel young again. I know Pride precedeth the fall, better stop bragging.

Someone from my club travels quite a bit and always brings her mountain bike with her. She had a chance to do a bit of riding in the French Alps. Here is a stunning photo of a ride she took a month or so ago.

Black Mountain Trails, Bur Sage Loop. A little sparse on the vegetation. What do you call a tree in Las Vegas? Answer: Stage Prop.

Most recent excuse for a ride: took a few detours around campus on my way back to work from lunch. I really envy you guys in NorCal (not to mention I get funny looks fromt the students who are mostly all younger than me). I have been "riding" (very slowly) around campus with my 5 YO, trying to encourage him to get better, but he's still on training wheels, and it's a bit of an excersise in patience.

Off work this week so I kicked off Monday with some riding! Only got one decent pic though :\

This weather has been awesome - it's starting to get colder but it's not raining much. I hope it holds through December :D
