I rode the Pioneer Trail today in N. California. It's just above Nevada City, where the Tour of California will start next year, and where there is some incredible mountain biking. The trail was fantastic. We did 30 miles, most of it single track, through a ton of different environments. The ride starts at about 3500 ft and we climb up over the first 15 miles to about 5000 ft, observing the changes in tree's, dirt and terrain the whole way.

Trail is pretty well signed:

This rocky section was pretty .. slick:

This area was absolutely beautiful. The colors and the silence were unbelievable:

Man those Pioneer pics look nice. (I'd kill for that kind of dry right now).

I finished my first Wicked Ride of the East. Rocky, rooty, muddy, rocky, rooty, rocky, muddy, did I mention rocky? What an ass-whoopin'.

It was a beautiful cool day after an overnight soaking of an inch or more in a couple hours, so things were slick in some places. What an awesome trail system they have there, it rocked my world.

Sounds like my kind of ride. I'm in the other end of the state, by Springfield. I heard about that ride but I had to stay in and replace a leaky oil tank. But, I thought about riding all day. It was a beautiful day around here!

20 sucky road miles.

200 crunches, 40 pushups, and 30min on the stationary...life sux!!!

I'm gonna try to hit a trail soon, dang it. My knee feels strong right now.

A nice road ride and a bit of trail work at a local trail since all of the trails are closed due to flooding. Afterwards a few drinks and some fatty pizza!

Just around the neighborhood at a snails pace as I helped the wife along ..... riding with clipless pedals for the first time.

This weekend on the trails is going to be interesting.

Yep, jumping into a pile of leaves like when you where a kid is still fun.

15 miles single track super fun

Dannihilator 10-31-09 08:13 PM

16 miles of fairly hard trails on 2 hours of sleep in on and off rain makes for a long ride.

ed 10-31-09 08:15 PM

Mine was probably only 8-10...but after the hiatus, I was so happy to have the granny.

Alright...so...how do you choose, Scrub? Your quiver is full. I just don't know what I'd pick.

Dannihilator 10-31-09 08:17 PM

With the mix of everything it made for some truly hairy situations.
