I thought HTFU meant-Hurry those FRIES up! hahahahhaa

Whats with all the F bombs, here boys! Used to be when I was a lad that the F word had to do with one thing only!

Now the Fword is all F'ed up from all the Fing over use. Lets try to show a little respect for some F'en vocabulary-how bout it?

Testing out the Gorilla tape tubeless setup...

A little burp-age initially, then things settle down, and stayed nice and happy around 35psi. I was trying to burp the tire, doing and hitting things that would have had me pinch flatting with the same tire/same psi with a tube. Worked beautifully!

Today, in the Pequonnock River valley.

Got to take my inaugural ride on the Rigid SS 29er I just built up yesterday... Tried going to Cooper's Rock, but the (still) deep snow on the roadside trail forced me to pack it in early. Drove back into town and rode at Baker's ridge. Got a great ride in. I love the new bike, and the pup had fun as always (then slept for the rest of the day...win)

Unpacking at coopers for my failed attempt..

Went there last spring, planning another trip this year... it's great... lots of great trails all around the Asheville area

Yeah, 66 told me that's the only place people should ride when then hit that part of the country!

The trails have been super soaked so it's been mostly road for 2010. A on a bright note I've put in the most miles "ever" for the month of Jan. Two big reasons is the very mild winter this year and I still don't have a job yet.

Daspydyr 02-07-10 09:59 PM

20.3 miles on clean trails washed by a couple days of good rain. Nice leisurely run, then fajitas and the Superbowl! Plus, both bets I made came through, bonus, cashing to tickets-eeyaaaaaa! New Camelback I ordered gets paid for by Station Casinos. This is a good day!

Pedal up/pedal down laps at Graham Hills today.

My kid screwing around in the back yard today -
Facebook Post

Not really mountain biking - but this is what makes him a good moutain biker.

craigcraigcraig 02-11-10 12:25 AM

good one!

dminor 02-11-10 02:18 AM

Dang! I need to get your ortho of that ramp.

4evrplan 02-11-10 09:58 AM

I watched it over and over, and somehow I still can't see how he landed it. One moment he's turned 90 degrees to the direction of travel; the next moment he's already riding safely away. ?

sscyco 02-11-10 06:15 PM

^^ No video trickery - I taught him special ninja bike skills.

yak 02-12-10 09:19 AM

Got in a nice 12 mile ride on 2-6 inches of fresh with the phat tires last night. (No aerials with the pugs, though)

Those of you who live up north are probably going to roll your eyes, but here in East Texas, snow is a really big deal. Work was cancelled today, so...

On my way to the trail.

Still on my way to the trail.

Here's what all the snow did to the creek.

Standing on it's own. Well, okay, the pedal is resting on a clump of grass, but the clump was stiffened with snow.

Crossing through the park.

No tracks. I was the first one on the trail this morning.

I would have taken more pics, but I had to cut my ride short. My wife called because the kids were up and wanted help getting them ready to go out.

EDIT: Before anyone gives me grief about having reflectors on a MTB, I ride it on the road too.

Macleans Island MTB track 1: Me 0

Biked the 17 odd km to the start of the local 17km single track loop. Was having lots of fun until I tried to take a corner too fast for my talent. went off the hardpack and dug the front wheel into some soft loose sand while leaned over. I cushioned the bike's fall and it only suffered lightly tweaked handlebars and a very small tear on the seat. Had slightly less fun on the rest of the loop and the ride home.

mzeffex 02-15-10 11:46 AM

2 miles with my friend on the back, to go to someone's house. The looks we got from drivers!

16 miles in the woods, 40 degrees and soft snow. Schweeeet!

Covalent Jello 02-16-10 09:47 AM

lol hilarious. i need some of those tires

same goes to meff's tric

yak 02-19-10 08:09 AM

Those tire weren't helping much last night. 2 inches of new snow melting over old ice made things mighty slick and slushy. I'll be mounting up a Surly Larry on the front soon, and plan to stud the old Endomorph. That oughtta do it.
