Thats not a mountain bike with them super fats, that a YAK!
5.8 miles to the public library and back. First ride since eye surgery. At last! |
Out on the road today, incorporating errands into a ride. Library. LBS. Hardware store. Pharmacy. Quick stop at the grocery store. Post ride posengering at the LCS now, and will hit the packy on the way home to grab some fresh booze. :thumb:
Capacious messenger bags FTW. Did similarly a couple days ago, though on the commuter with rack/panniers to pick up mass quantities for consumption. Combining road time thusly makes it somewhat more palatable. The trails I'd care to ride now are going to take at least another couple days to become dry enough to hit without destroying ****, even in the early morning frozen times. |
23.69 miles following the railroad tracks through Henderson. Flat, but more fun than I thought it would be. Found a small homeless community in the midst of nowhere.

^ Interesting. Did you stop and chat?

It was a few guys who looked sacred and ready to run. I gave em a thumbs up and moved on.

The snow today was so dense and heavy...my bike propped itself up for portaits:lol:
I had to pedal hard just to keep going downhill. Uphill was next to impossible. My tires would start to climb up onto the snow and then everything would just SINK! Front wheel was going to wander no matter what. I couldn't do anything about it. |
sweet pictures though haha rode with the roommates yesterday after I talked all three of them into getting mountain bikes. The local bike shop likes me to say the least after bringing three different people in to buy new bikes. We are going out to come good riding this week so i'll take some pictures.

Rode Riverside with a couple of guys from Idaho on Sunday. Mostly doing the 24 hours course. Since it was a real nice day that place was loaded with people riding, hiking and horse back riders.

If/when I buy a bike off of Craigslist, I think I'll drive down to Austin. |

I'm green with envy, I havent been for a ride for probably 3 months, once the ski area starts making snow, I become a ski bum. But lately I've been dieing for a ride. But now we have 4 inches of slush over everything so trails wont be open for probably 1 month or so.

I should have had my camera with me, there was snow on the McClullogh Mts in S. Nevada. I can almost say I rode in the snow. It was maybe 500 feet higher up. Took an endo as a rock grabbed my back tire on a sharp left. Those Camelback's sure take the edge off those rocks. Nice soft landing and the bladder seems no worse for the bounce.

2 hours with all three roommates on their brand new bikes. Good times for all and I rode clipless for the first time. I'll put up pictures next time I break out the camera.

Went out to the same trail today but did it out and back instead of just out. Only with one other though. About half of the trail is rock garden which is pretty hard to navigate but Paden (3rd time on a trail ever) did a great job and kept up for the most part.

Nice pics, looks like a fun ride.
Did the dude in the nike shirt not wear a helmet? |

Sullivan Canyon has lots of new drops in a variety of sizes, and the terrain has also been improved...all thanks to the recent heavy rains. Here's about a 6 footer I did earlier today, 2.28.10.
