i had the mallet m's instead of the c's tho
but big difference
both of 'em are easy to get in/out of
its just the times dont have sealed bearings
so after a little while they squeak like crazy
but otherwise
both are awesome pedals,
i like the fact that you can change out the (bash plate?) or whatever on the mallet c/m's
one has larger spikes and one has smaller spikes
its really your decision
both are awesome pedals
good luck

What kind of pedal did you have that broke?
Do you ride with clipless pedal shoes, or just regular shoes?
I use regular shoes, and these pedals https://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?sku=8036
with strapless ('mini') toe clips. https://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?sku=8044

I have a feeling the OP was just riding plastic platforms and probably doesn't want anything fancy or expensive. Just some decent, inexpensive platform pedals that won't fall apart on him. Just a hunch, though, until he responds.

OK. So the pedal that broke looked something like this?

Probably made out of plastic?
I recommend you get pedals made out of metal, like this:

or even like this:

They won't cost much more than plastic pedals, and they will last a lot longer.
Do you have a bike shop nearby? If you can, take the busted pedal with you to the shop, so you are sure to buy the right size pedal.

correct me if Im wrong, but I think you will have to buy a new SET and not just 1. if its platforms go with the above mentioned. if its clipless go with ATACS ( any will do you fine)unless you are running SPD cleats, then go with a clone of the Shimanos if $ is your biggest concern

I do agree to get metal pedals because they will last longer but I would go for something more like this:

You can probably pick up something like this for about $20 at your LBS.

I use strapless toe clips and I haven't slipped yet. But it's probably just a matter of time....

I've ridden with a number of folks that run clips and straps. I call them the Toeclip Mafia. They're very good technical riders, up and down.
