they are made really nice and are easy to bleed. bleeding kits are not necessary like they are for some brands. you can also use regular DOT fluid. very happy with mine.

I won't apologize for the hijack, as interest in this thread was waning anyway.

If you want some reliable disc brakes you should look at hayes HFX-9's they work very well for me.

I don't seems to have problem with hope, first of all, they are easiler to bled then stupid magura closed system which I also have, and their power is really good...they are a pain in the @$$ to setup tho but onces it right, they never have problem.
I have one bike with M4 185mm and the other with MONO MINIS 180mm with goodridge hose and both are great performances....I think they are better then hayes...
only other hydro brakes I wanna try which I haven't yet it the top end magura marta SL which is some crazy price thing, Avid Juicy Seven which I believe will just be normal power XC brakes, and the Old Shimano XT which has a similar design then the Hope M4 and both are not being produced anymore.
I also run a Avid BB7 on one of my other bikes and it the best you can go for wire...DON'T get Hayes HMX...they are crap!

How can you give advice on hydros and not know what "bleed" is?! I think you should stop offering "advice" because one of these days some unsuspecting poster is going to take it and end up hurting themselves.
Maybe its just a lost in translation thing. But i doubt it. You just dont have a damn clue what you're talking about!

hmm, lets see i read reviews so technically I know that the Juicy 7 is a good hydraulics. It doesnt need a genius to read reviews and judge is it good or not so stop offending me.

How many systems have you personally used or worked on? Which ones do you have actual hands-on experience with? It's ok to say that you heard x brand or y design was good, but experience is what counts in this discussion. I've set up and used Shimano, Hayes, Promax and Avid. I've got some Magura's for our tandem that I'll be installing soon. I was an importer in Australia, and I also worked in a bike shop for a while there, where I saw most brands of brakes, and talked to customers that used them, and the mechanics that serviced them. Reading is good, but sometimes it takes more than that to have an opinion that carries any weight.
