Where did everyone go?
Seems like traffic on the Mtn biking forums is incredibly light. Is everyone somewhere else? If so, where? Over at Ridemonkey?

I still be here, been over on the general forum arguing with some of the hmmm well been over there arguing my right to drive a big ugly 4 wheel drive pickup. I've also been at RM but the cool people are here too. I've received alot of help here so I always check in to see if there's any questions I can answer, or liberals to guide

I haven't ridden my bike in the dirt since the day after thanksgiving!!! I've had an incredible streak of bad timing and missed opportunities. Every time I have commitments I can't get out of, it is GORGEOUS outside. And it's crappy when I can, of course. It has rained the last 3 weekends in a row! WTF? And, the one day that I could've gotten out there, my bike was in pieces (recall the "Sunday, I did not ride, I rebuilt her" thread...).
Oh well, my bike is in the best condition that it has been in, in a long time. And once I fix that damn freehub of mine (THURSDAY), she'll be as good as the day I floated my rent check to bring her home...
. (Thanks to Pokey and Hunter for the much needed info.).
So, I have been reading all these threads in veign, knowing that I haven't been on the bike, so I just don't respond much...
(It has been a lot slower on here though... fair weather riders
)

I'm still here. I recently had some laser surgery on my eyes to correct some diabetic retinopathy. Surgeon says to cut back on strenuous exercise for a few weeks. Combined with the awful weather in the UK, I therefore cannot ride my bike so I sit at home and sulk instead! I read what I can and flit through the groups.
Christmas time as well, means I chill out lunchtimes with my wife drinking cappucinos. The new year will see things back to normal. I'm tempted to go SRAM just as soon as I can find a good lbs that has it in stock. Then I'll start posting! Watch me!

Yeah, and you get to breath noxious carbon monoxide, asphalt off-gassing. You get to play dodge car. You get to deal will bad/angry/frustrated drivers. You get to try to avoid broken glass, and potholes. Sounds like fun!
Actually I do have a road bike and enjoy it. Keeps my reflexes and attention sharp. I just enjoy being off-road much more!

No one does that down here. Plus, the wife would kill me if I added another bike to the stable. And another thing, the weather down here is perfect right now for mtn biking. High today's near 75 and sunny!

No Vacancies all over the place. Too many of you NYers have the same idea. However, I will extend an open invitation to all cyclist to camp out in my yard. Did I mention I'm a 5 min bike ride to the white sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico?

It takes longer to drive, find a parking space, and walk than it does to ride your bike!
But Mike, you and your 4x4 are welcome anytime! Just don't bring any pinkos with you!
BTW, what kind of 4x4? I've got a 2001 Tahoe and a 1970 C10.
The Tahoe is the wife's, and we use it for trips, the '70 is a P.O.S., that has 33" tires and a lift kit, is in desparate need of a paint job, has had the whole drivetrain rebuilt and I added disc brakes to the front. This is my daily driver and it's amazing how people move out of my way when they see it coming!

Actually, believe it or not, the GMC is my bosse's (that be the wife), it's a 2001 4 door 4X4, very cool truck. I have to ask permission to drive it a week ahead of time. I usually drive my Jeep Wrangler. She pretty much has to have it in her job, I was stretching most of some of my other posts to rile up the pinko's
Wait, not all of that is true, the part about my mooching no gas buying mtn biker friends was true!!!

I've been at the shop alot lately..Trying to gin up some x-mas sales. This is the wierdest year ever, we haven't even touched $15,000 yet, and x-mas is only days away. 15,000 bones isn't much to tow a bike shop through until March!!!! I'm hoping that tomorrow will be busy. We've had alot of people coming in to see what he have, and figure out what their little kid wants yadda yadda yadda. So hopefully they'll come in an buy soon.
