Yeah, no kidding. This one sucks almost as hard as those bikes with the S on the head tube. That makes me wonder; what does the C on my head tube stand for?

And my "J"?

I'm really diggin that Guard ca7erham...you got a functional ride there. I'm sorta wondering if maybe I shouldn't check into one for the crapper.

ed 12-23-08 09:00 AM

Wow...19.8lbs! My frok weighs that much.

ca7erham 12-23-08 09:03 AM

Thats still lighter than my roadie :(

ed 12-23-08 09:05 AM

It's alright dood...you can at least do 3.5' drops to flat on your roadie ;)

ca7erham 12-23-08 09:22 AM

I dont think thats going to happen. A few months ago I made mexican food from my rear wheel just by jumping a tar line.

hahaha, you're hilarious.

EDIT: and it would be easy (not cheap) to get that thing even lighter.

this summer i decided to rebuild an old bike i had laying around it actually turned out pretty good, it has shimano deore hydrolic breaks, shimano xt 11 to 34 gear cassette, xt shadow rd,xt fd 22 to 44 front chain rings, deore lx hubs, xt cranks, rear shock is a rock shox mc 3.3, rock shox tora 318 on the front im waiting to get back from the shop it quit holding air so thier is a dart 3 in place of the tora it went from being 54lbs to 30 lbs it gets great traction with those panaracer tires, shifts like a dream and is butterly smooth, next summer im going to sell my trek fuel and buy a trek remedy 9

that is a bash guard thier was a boss back thier that i had drilled and tapped 2 holes for it thier is some pretty good scuff marks on the guard from the last time i crashed, the ground was frozen and under the frost was mud and i was cruzin on a side hill where the trail was washed out and i slid off the trail and down the side of the hill in the snow for 20 feet if that guard was not thier the xt rd would have been in the dirt the hole time it just barely kept it off the ground, i have had the bike forever its indestructible i just cant break the thing and i am not very nice to it iv beat the crap out of it it just keeps goin got a million miles on it iv wore every bearing out of it at least twice, then i got a trek fuel 100 and i like riding the pacific way more it just seemed way more comfortable to ride dont know why i would leave the trek parked and ride the pacific and it was gettin hard to pedal all the bearings were going bad again, didnt like the 8 spd that was on it and always wanted to gear it down a bit with a 9 spd and always wanted to upgrade the old shocks and disc breaks, so i rebuilt the thing got all the parts off ebay, ever since i got it rebuilt i have not rode the trek since for some reason i just like they way it rides its fast to i can pass the cars down main street with no problem, and it sure climbs good with the 22 to 34 almost geared to low, i dont think i will ever get rid of it havent found a bike yet that i like better, im itching to get a trek remedy 9 does anyone want a trek fuel 100 i need some money for the remedy 9 lol maybe ill have to sell a car that i dont drive either to get enough$$ i have a 1999 ford taurus sho 32 valve v8 anyone want it

Nice. Have you ridden it with the Vassago fork as well? How does the handling compare?

ed 12-26-08 10:18 AM

That is truly a beautiful ride, 7.

jcook1989 12-26-08 04:22 PM

Painted my fork white and put the new pedals on.

Nah. This is my first rigid so I don't really have any reference point as far as steel forks and I've never ridden the ODIS fork. I have a buddy with a Mariachi with a steel salsa fork that noticed a huge difference and loved the carbon fork after about a 5 minute ride.

I love the carbon one though and would highly recommend it.

I think you need to change the tag under your sig for "I'm ok" to "I'm in need of help."

Dannihilator 12-26-08 10:57 PM

I'm definitely not in need of help. This is just what I have progressed to. All in total this year I have more than double road miles to mtn miles.
