Since our dirtjumps are about a 25minute ride from my house I usually strap a shovel to this and bushwack my way out there.

Special mods include.

Custom front fascia (not shown)
Batman logo covering bad bondo job.
F-150 horn.
Stickers.
Ductaped stuff.
Hole cut in side so I can get a screwdriver in to adjust the idle.

When I was going to UTI one of our instructors purchased one of those new. We managed to strap it down to the dyno and we got 5HP at the wheels... He then went out and purchased some power mods... the money only got him looks... no power gains. Oh did I mention he was 450lbs?! ;) :D

ya, I have to admit, it pulls quicker then most dirtbikes I've ridden.

So what the heck ever happened to good old Rubber Accordion Fork Boots?

http://raskcycle.com/parts/fork/42-5320.jpg

Did they just fall out of fashion? Or did they create other problems?

I have an old Rock Shox Judy XC with them, and the stanchions still look like new because of the boots.

Fork seals are better these days and the accordion boots trapped a great deal of gunk, and moisture, inside of them.

I figured it had to be something like that... I suppose it also depends on the conditions, climate, and how often a person checks or maintains things.

Sorry, I just got it today. I don't have any action pics. I have heard people say the frame is ugly but don't bash it until you are up close and see it in person. It is really nice and the colour looks better in person too! :)

Is that the way you rode it? With the uneven brake levers?

For most of its life it had Gripshifters both sides; when I lost the front one, yeah, I moved it back a little closer to the grip. Oh, and don't tell anyone that they are both right-side levers with one flipped ;)

I'm really looking forward to hydraulics so I can one-finger more often with confidence.

I still don't have a seat post that fits. So I yanked that of one of my other bike, and taped it down. I just ordered a Thomson last Thursday.:D

I was amazed I actually got that pic. It took about 20 tries and I was sweating bullets, but as you can see I eventually got it.
