Replaced the X-Mart bike a couple weeks ago. I don't do extreme stuff and mostly ride trails and paths...paved or crushed rock/hard packed dirt. And I am an older, bigger guy who just feels more comfortable on an mountain bike.

I also always have a camera with me. Hence the (nerdy? lol) rack trunk that is big enough to fit my dSLR when I choose to take it. Otherwise it is my smaller bridge cam.

Good looking out. I called them and mine is a part of the recall since it was made prior to May 07

New fork was a good move, now you just have to do something about those fenders...

well, I haven't posted here yet and I wish I could find my camera (that's another, long, extremely angry story...) but this will do for a moment's work:

This bike has traded hands I think twice now. Over time it's had a mis-mash of parts thrown at it. Ted Wojcik (steel) frame. Avid BB7 front brake, XTR rear vbrake (frame has no provisions for rear disk). Race face crank set and bars, XT brake levers and front derailleur, SRAM 9.0 shifters and rear derailleur. Deore hubs, Mavic 317 and 117 rims. Risse rear shock. Blew up a SID last Thursday and got a good deal on that Manitou Splice as a take-off from another bike at the local bike shop. Hopefully it will hold me over for a little while until I can scrape up some cash for something a little fancier. Black F100 would be nice. I think that red tire has got to go too, haha.

I ride with the seat tilted back, even when I'm in my h-core XC mode. I couldn't imagine it any other way.

If you're running the saddle angled like that, and with it higher than the bars, you'd likely be getting pressure from the nose of the saddle. It'd be even more obvious on a more XC-geo bike like the Hardrock rather than a more FR bike where your weight is already further back on the bike.

Regardless, the seatpost is backwards and is limiting the range of adjustment.

Since then, put on a mid cage X.9, new pads + bleed for the brakes, and replacing the pivots next week.
