Mostly on the road and race forums but here's my Asylum OCD. It's a 29er. SRAM, Avid Juicy, Rock Shox Reba, Chris King, Easton carbon post/bar, other bits I've forgotten. All up weight is about 29.5, which isn't too bad. It supplements my 12 year old Merlin Mountain, which waits patiently for a going over before I put it back on the trail.

I have no frame of reference except my Merlin but I am definitely faster everywhere but possibly the road on this thing. Up hills, downhills, whatever. I love it. The running joke among my friends is that I bought a skills upgrade. Not inaccurate, I guess.

The bike is lighter than you think, weighs in at 29 pounds.

The 29 pounds on my DMR is more impressive, being that it is a slalom race bike.

Sold it, the BB was to high for my liking, plus it was a lot of bike to handle in a race. Long and high.

Plus it was a older rig and while I liked it, this is better suited to me.

Thats very light for a chromoly frame and fat tires with freeride rims. My kona weighs at least 35 probably more like 40. I don't supose anyone knows what a stock 2007 shred weighs?
