Thank you to all the guys here for their great advice and encouragement in helping me purchase my first bike at age 58. Sofar I LOVE it and couldn't be happier with my purchase. May have to switch to a Thudbuster seatpost to make things just a little easier on my old back.

I knew the XTR was much lighter than the Profile crank... Did not expect it to be almost 1/2 the weight of the Profile crank (~770g for crank arms, BB and chain rings). At least my son will put the Profile crank to use.

I had to get my back brake rebuilt, sent it off 3 weeks ago, only got it back today! Might be able to sneak in a ride on friday, we'll see. Or late sunday.

We'll see what happens. Also got an x.7 shifter and dérailleur. Will probably upgrade to an x.9 or x.0, but no the dérailleur. I'm a hack, and in this rocky country flashy stuff isn't much chop

Would post pics, but camera is flat and I cant find the charger, USB cable or card reader...

Got my santa cruz superlight white powdercoat frame today. It's hot. Put a pewter king headset on it. I'll post pics when I get my locknut for my rear wheel and my front dérailleur.

Not my bike. A guy in my club just posted this pic of his new Ibis. I thought it was worth sharing. Gastro, you know that bike you were thinking of getting? I think this is it.

Ibis' are hot to look at, never ridden one though.

Seen a few racks like that getting around, nifty.

Yeah, why can't NASCAR be all understated and dignified . . . like Euopean racing?

Boys, boys, boys, don't be so touchy. The jab was meant for gastro who previously stated he preferred non NASCAR like logos on his stuff.

No problem. Hard to know who gets offended. The rule with me is to never take anything I say seriously.

+1. Your bike perfectly matches the scenery, right down to the hues of the paint. It's like it was meant to be there.

Its not "supposed to be" but in the winter, its all snowmobile trails, so they are pretty welkept.

they slightly break into a little more technical (but its not hard to get more technical than the highway shown) singletrack.

Fun though, right behind the house.
