I am sure there are plenty of Fisher's that will not only "OWN" mine, but riders that are not FAT, and that can actually RIDE....unlike me :D that would own me.

BUT.....

My fisher has been to MOAB

Cross post from MTBR. I just picked up. 2003 19" Yellow Yeti ARC. King Rasta headset, LX rapidfire shifters, XT rear der., LX front Der., Truvativ Firex crankset, Bontrager Select Wheelset, Manitou Black 80/100mm fork. Here are the pictures.

First ride impressions:

Wow, this thing is fast. Every pedal stroke seems to seriously be transferred to the back wheel. Bike is seriously light too...Jeebus, I can pick this thing up with like one finger. This fork is pretty cool, lets try and rip on 80mm. Damn, that Object I just rolled over looked a lot bigger then that. This thing seems to just roll over stuff too easy. Almost seems like cheating :skep: . This bike just goes where you point it. Totally excellent.

This is my first "quality" bike. The bike I had before was a mish-mash of parts, that worked rather well and fit me good but was just not that great. This thing seems like a rocket.

Mod edit: Easy on the swearing.

My 3 month old 2007 Gary Fisher Piranha, fully stock with Crank Bros. Mallet C pedals and some Gary Fisher fish valve stem caps that look pretty cool. Up against the couch pics after a full cleaning. I'll take some more pics of it when I get it dirty.

The Axel fork is actually doing great, contrary to what most people believe on the forums. Even on 3 foot drops, I think it's all I need right now. When it does break, I'll get something a lot nicer though.

Breitling 08-05-07 10:16 PM

sorry about the huge pics, i just put them straight from my camera. I'll edit the next ones down

Ok, its not new. Hell, its not pretty. Well, its pretty ugly. Heres a blast from the past! This is what happens when you get 1 free Klein Rascal frame (that fits) and buy 1 used at the LBS (that dosen't fit but has good parts). It's my retro ride!

Deore XT stuff, Cooks cranks, Klein mission control (cut down of course!), Onza(!?!?!? wow I fogot about those) rear tire and Dart front, King (1"!) h-set. Basically the bike I had 15 yrs ago in high school and raced on.

DasProfezzional 08-07-07 05:23 PM

The tri saddle on that Yeti is a bit of a "huhwah?" But, with that paint job, I'm not going to argue.

LOL,
Thanks. I questioned taking the pic but didnt feel like cranking up the compressor.

wethepeople 08-08-07 10:22 PM

I know the pic sucks ass, but camera isn't being co-operative right now. Since my hand is broken and I cant do much for riding I decided to just do a full disassembly and rebuild to it.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...1/103_1608.jpg

So far this is how the build will look.

Rear hoop: Mavic 729
Rear Hub: Hope pro 2.
Rear Tyre: Syncros BHT 2.7.
Rear Cassette: Sram pg970.
Rear Spokes: DT Swiss.
Rear Brake: Juicy Seven.
Rear Dérailleur: Shimano XT.
Rear Shifter: Some Shimano garbage.
Rear Shock: Fox DHX 5.0.
Front Hoop: Mag 30.
Front Hub: Marzocchi.
Front Spokes: DT Swiss.
Front Brake: Juicy Seven.
Front Tyre: Syncros BHT 2.7.
Fork: 888 RC (hopefully with flat crowns eventually)
Stem: Funn Integrated.
Bars: Easton.
Headset: Funn Headbanger.
Pedals: Syncros Mentals.
Cranks: MRP.
Chain Guide: MRP.
Chain: Some Sram one.
Bottom Bracket: Hell if I know.
Seat Post: Easton Ultra.
Seat: Funn.

Should be nice when I'm done.

What do you mean "huhwah"? The saddle came on the bike, at first it was a bit uncomfortable but I realized I had it adjusted too high now it's not too bad. I may pick up something else though.

EDIT - Oh, I see what you mean. It is a triathalon saddle. It's not massive uncomfortable to me though.
