I am afraid now to take it off because i don't want it to peel the crappy coating off! this summer i plan on stripping it all back down and having it powdercoated. that was my original plan but i was too cheap about it and now i'm paying the price of that mistake.
Powder coating is the way to go. When you have it done see if you cant get it thrown in with some one else's order, usually they will give you a discount

the shop here quoted me one fifty and i really do wish i would have done it. funny you mentioned the mullet. this past week i had some hippy dude at school ask me like twenty questions on my bike. i thought he was really interested in it but he then thought that i stole his old mullet and sprayed it black! i finally had to show him how much better quality parts my bike than his mullet after he was being a jerk about it. not saying that the mullet is not very good. but the ged just has better quality parts on it

Thanks...I usually nit about my pics much more also. As a hobby I take pictures of landscapes, waterfalls and birds in flight... I would never leave the hose in the background of one of those pictures.

It's the new shadow it doesn't need the slack. The cable goes straight to it.

My Surly Big Dummy is almost complete. I have to cut down the old drop bars my LBS gave me so that I can set them up as stoker bars for my girls. I also need to put some fenders as I don't want my girls or the groceries to get splashed if I ride through puddles.

Most of these parts are mountain bike bits. I took a fair amount off of my Kona hardtail. A few parts were bought new like the cranks (Shimano LX), front derailleur (LX), rear derailleur (X.7) and triggers (X.9). I also want to get some Schwalbe Big Apple tires to replace the old knobbies I have on right now.

I also want to get an old pair of bar ends and set them up as foot pegs for my 4-year-old as she can't quite reach the footrests.
