Do I really need a Titanium seat binder bolt with purple anodized end caps?
NO. But, I dropped $6 on one anyway.

I finally got the bars/stem/shifters mounted, and the brake lines run. The Oury grips are nothing short of pure sweetness, especially if you have big mitts.
As you can see, I added some nice brake boosters. Of course, they are purple.

Everything will get upgraded eventually. My next step will probably be a set of Avid SD-7 V-brakes, and also some spacers. I know another place that also sells custom purple spacers.

The CF spacer is all I had at the time, and I actually had to cut it with my miter saw to fit. It was a 20mm, and I only needed about 12mm. So, I have a tiny one left over. Incidently, does anyone need a 3mm CF spacer?

Here's another pic of the cockpit in progress.
All I need is to stop by the LBS, and get some new der cable housings.

Although recently, after seeing what I've been up to, the idea idea of modding their bike has been catching on with them.

^^^ Believe it or not, I tore this whole bike down, and replaced about 80% of the components. My total investment is under $500 for absolutely everything, including new shoes and pedals. I had to do lots of frugal shopping though. Alot of that NOS anodized stuff is very inexpensive on Ebay, because it's all leftover stuff from the 90's.
The bar/stem/seatpost combo was only about $40 shipped, and all of the purple nuts and bolts were about $50 shipped. Not too bad, and it really gave the bike new character.
Oh, and the paint ran me about $50 as well.

Well, that's why it's good to collect all the parts little by little, and you can just replace one or two things at a time. The time consuming replacement parts are the group. The shifters/F&R ders/chain/cassette, all ran me about $180. That takes a while to replace and properly tune. But, it can easily be done in one evening with some good tunes and a couple beers.

Well see thats what im looking at replacing fairly soon. Haha, do you think you could fin a purple cassette somewhere, or chain rings?
It would certainly be a fun project to do by myself. How hard do you rate doing something like this, for a fair novice? On the skill/knowledge-o-meter, i give myself a 5 out of 10. Im in the process of replacing my fork (I say in the process because it got too dark to work lol). Is it supposed to be that easy, or am i messing it all up?

Replacing the fork really only has one issue that most people may not be equipped to handle, and that is cutting the steerer to the proper length. Assuming you don't need to replace the headset, and the bottom race is easily removed from the steerer, everything else you can do with a set of allen wrenches.
