Let's play 20 questions, are you still done with full suspension?

BFG 08-24-08 06:16 AM

Tease.

xcracer13 08-24-08 09:04 AM

soft tail?

Dannihilator 08-24-08 10:30 PM

Matter as well spill it, you probably won't see as much of me anymore. The new bike is a 2nd fixed gear, and will likely be parting out the mtb.

Fixed gear road or mountain?

Dannihilator 08-24-08 10:33 PM

Road.

Dude. I call BS on this.

born2bahick 08-25-08 05:23 AM

Say it aint so!

mtnbiker66 08-25-08 06:01 AM

So will we just have D as a Mod now?

Has anyone read the Pisgah artical in Bike magazine? I found it amusing.

born2bahick 08-25-08 07:02 AM

About the two weekend warriors that carried in all there gear? no I haven't. A friend was telling me about it yesterday on the trail, but then she fell and fractured her radius. I never heard the rest of the story.
Was it good?

It was a funny read.I think that since those are my home trails I got a kick out of it.

I may keep the mtb, but riding it has gotten almost to the point of routine, and there is just nothing there to keep me interested anymore. So maybe I should say it's a indefinite hiatus from a mountain bike.

OK I just read it, It was funny! Three guy's not two, huh? I really liked this part

Bike magazine:We lounge in a shallow bend in the river next to our campsite, sip cold cans of Coors, and figure out the math for the day.
Thirty miles, omly 7 of which are downhill, with a total elevation gain of
around 3500 feet. High on our first days accomplishment, we discuss the various superpowers we'd like to have.Jeremiah and I choose Invisibility for Obvious and obscene reasons, and Jeff say's he'd like the ability to give people titty twisters from across the room because, and I quote
"You could stop all kinds of crime with that sort of power"

That is both sad and scary indeed, is it not?

If it keeps the other mods out, I'm all for it.

When I am elected supermoderator, I will happily shoulder much of the load for you Doug.

I thought some of you may enjoy this:

Dannihilator 08-25-08 11:04 PM

Well it is official, I no longer own a mountain bike. Sold it to an ex-coworker.

dminor 08-25-08 11:05 PM

Thanks Ben. I meant to look at those but seems I was always frantically searching for the #$@%^% schedule so couldn't take the time. The big gaps were huge - - I still have a hard time imagining landing them on small wheels.

This is a sad passage indeed. But we will not write you off; you will be back to the fold no doubt when the time feels right.

BFG 08-26-08 05:56 AM

I think that's what makes some of the BMX ---> MTB converts fast, they really learn how to ride jumps fast on the little bikes.

It'll be sad to see you go Smashy. But you'll be back, I'm sure of it.

Dannihilator 08-26-08 07:19 AM

I'm going to be back with a mtb a year or two down the road.

Dannihilator 08-27-08 08:57 PM

I'm starting to think this fisher has a boomerang feature, the person who was going to buy it backed out. So I guess I'm just going to ride it until it blows up into a million peices.

santiago 08-28-08 07:26 AM

Welcome back. See, now you have two fixed gear bikes and a mountain bike. I've seen pics of your garage, you have plenty of room.

Dannihilator 08-29-08 08:28 AM

I think I'm not going to try to break the bike. I was probably just burnt out.

ca7erham 08-30-08 07:00 AM

I'm looking for some good 2.3s to go up front. What would you guys suggest?

Kendeathwalker 09-03-08 11:08 AM

Any one else get sore knees from clippless? For me its only the right knee, and lately its not so much sore as painful to the point it keeps me awake sometimes. Only after longer rides, 10 miles + do I get sore like that, but only in the right knee. Im assuming its the clipless pedals because I commute to work with cages on my other bike and that doesnt bother me. I was thinking it might be the position of the cleat? Am I doing to much biking? Commting 13 miles round trip to work 4 days a week and about 20-30 miles of Mountain biking on the weekend.

Its along the outside of the knee if any one else has experienced this before? It

born2bahick 09-03-08 11:13 AM

Yes, I've had before. I played with cleat placement, and eventually went to a pedal with more float. If I ride a lot on the road bike I still get a touch of it.

Kendeathwalker 09-03-08 11:22 AM

what does more float mean? the pedal is less rigid? you can wiggle your foot around more? excuse my use of layman's words.
