Bikes: Bike Count: Rising.

Well it is official, I no longer own a mountain bike. Sold it to an ex-coworker.

Bikes: Bike list is not a resume. Nobody cares.

Thanks Ben. I meant to look at those but seems I was always frantically searching for the #$@%^% schedule so couldn't take the time. The big gaps were huge - - I still have a hard time imagining landing them on small wheels.

This is a sad passage indeed. But we will not write you off; you will be back to the fold no doubt when the time feels right.

Bikes: All the TGMBG mums

I think that's what makes some of the BMX ---> MTB converts fast, they really learn how to ride jumps fast on the little bikes.

It'll be sad to see you go Smashy. But you'll be back, I'm sure of it.

I'm starting to think this fisher has a boomerang feature, the person who was going to buy it backed out. So I guess I'm just going to ride it until it blows up into a million peices.

Welcome back. See, now you have two fixed gear bikes and a mountain bike. I've seen pics of your garage, you have plenty of room.

I think I'm not going to try to break the bike. I was probably just burnt out.

Any one else get sore knees from clippless? For me its only the right knee, and lately its not so much sore as painful to the point it keeps me awake sometimes. Only after longer rides, 10 miles + do I get sore like that, but only in the right knee. Im assuming its the clipless pedals because I commute to work with cages on my other bike and that doesnt bother me. I was thinking it might be the position of the cleat? Am I doing to much biking? Commting 13 miles round trip to work 4 days a week and about 20-30 miles of Mountain biking on the weekend.

Its along the outside of the knee if any one else has experienced this before? It

Bikes: a lot

Yes, I've had before. I played with cleat placement, and eventually went to a pedal with more float. If I ride a lot on the road bike I still get a touch of it.

what does more float mean? the pedal is less rigid? you can wiggle your foot around more? excuse my use of layman's words.

Bikes: All the TGMBG mums

So today I was building and maintaining trails up at the goat farm for the first pasrt of the mornng.

It was good to get out and do some digging again - it's a part of riding and if you don't dig, you don't ride in my eyes. You gotta get your hands dirty and do your bit. Besides, it's a lot of fun wit the right people. Got a few dodgy sections sorted and some drainage issues adressed along with making the rockgarden supergnar.

Also saw the Vice President of DH in West Aus. overshoot a super huck and flatlanded, bottoming right out etc and stayed on the bike and rode it out. It was insane.

Spent the latter part of the afternoon being shuttle driver as I didn't have my bike which was good too, i had fun. Now it's off to my dad's house for a Fathers Day BBQ.

I plan on going camping next spring. Any of you used the GSI stainless steel espresso maker?

I plan on bringing these cups, too.

camping as in out of a backpack, or out of the back of the car?

i've used one similar to that when car camping. pain in the ass to lug that extra stuff when backpacking though. they work well. extra cups just for that? minimize your packing and bring fewer cups. saves time and space in the long run.

lexan bodied french press FTW.

I roll with a French press and cheap, melamine cups.

It will be out of a car. At least I think it will be.

I hadn't thought of a French press. I'll look at that, as I probably would have aimed to make really long espresso shots out of the espresso maker and suspect that a French press would have given similar results but with the added bonus of extra volume.

^^ . . . leave it to the French to somehow make 'cowboy coffee' hip and chic

BTW, for the full, proper flavor and effect, you should drink it from a couple of these:
