Anyone have a "Skinny" setup in their backyard ??
If so...What kind of setup do you have ?? Any curves or drops ?? For practice on our local skills trail,I was thinking about putting some two by six's on cinderblocks then leading to some two by four's but I'm not sure...Would you have a small ramp to ease into it or just hop up on it ?? I would prefer something kinda portable & not too expensive if possible...Some pics would be great...Thanks...

I've done this in the my drive way. Not to hard, but a ramp is best. Also make sure the boards are not going to fall off the cinder blocks. Bad experiences. . .

Here are a couple of pics of one a few miles from my house. It's in a skills area where kids can develop there riding skills without getting all busted up.

if i can get more wood, i plan on building a skinny system @ the local trail. i'd use both 2x6 and 2x4s.
i personally don't like it when my tires leave the ground... so i wouldn't include any serious drops. it depends on how high the "starting point" of the skinny system is. if it's less than 6", you could simply hop onto it. if it's a foot or more, i'd use a ramp.

'66, is that where you broke your RD recently?
Stuff like that looks like a bunch of fun, I haven't come across anything like that around here, but maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places.

I'd just make it kind of modular. cinder blocks with 2x4s sounds great. Start with a longish straightaway, with a ramp on one end but not another. Start by using the ramp to ride onto the skinny until you build up your confidence level, and then you can ride up the non-ramped end. Once you get those down you can make something with some turns.
Ben, let's go for a ride before the weather turns to complete crap.

My kids and i have built a few ramps, jumps and log rolls in the back yard.
it's alot of fun, I even put dirt mounds in the way back to do jumps and bridges works out pretty well
got alot of scrap wood from friends who were working on house 2X6, 2x4 and plywood wood. we change it up when we get bored
