Been a while guys! Since last post I have ridden my huge trek 6000 through all of Miamis parks successfully. But my back and arms taking too much abuse at the angle of. A 21" bike. Just bought a 2010 gt force small and it's a large stretch but it feels great and is very maneuverable for me. Piks to come. Minor cosmetic scrapes and components are well kept.

Giant Trance X1 (small)
I had a thread about this bike before I got it, but I don't think I ever posted pics.
I took these photos when it was clean before I had ever ridden it and had cheap plastic flat pedals. Now it's dirty and has clipless pedals. I also just got a camelbak so I'm taking off that under-seat bag.
I need to take some more creative close-up shots some time.

Bikes: Fuji SL
First tried mountain biking last spring on an 09 Fuji Outland RC. Liked it but didn't love it. Sold it in summer and just kept riding on the road. Got the itch this spring to try the mtn bike thing out again and decided to build one. Did this new 09 KHS 555 frame and everything else for under $1000 and I couldn't be happier. This bike makes me feel so much more comfortable than the Fuji ever did.

Thanks. No frippery. Only new parts needed were the seat clamp and headset bits, everything else swapped right over smoothely. Nice to run the post without a shim. 24.8#
Felt immediately comfortable, coming off the TransAM. Got in about two hours at one of my favorite local spots this afternoon, after building it up. Handles beautifully. Very fast handling, but never felt twitchy. Smooooooth feeling. Seemed to just move faster overall, but that was likely due to it being a decently fast paced group ride, and me with new bike tingly pants excitement.

Bikes: Bike list is not a resume. Nobody cares.
TransAm to this . . . I swear you are a closet PNW'er.
Kamui, eh? What guided your choice of this particular model over, say, the Samurai or Aperature - - weight I presume?

Pretty much, with a little geometry. This is my XC bike - wanted to keep it lighter and more nimble. I figure if it's made for Vancouver area XC riding, it ought to be more than capable for my day to day riding. The Trance-X is the middle bike, and the Reign-X/Totem is the big stupid.

^^ New your roots were Omak - - didn't realize your ties ran so deep. You're a long ways from home, native son.
XC definitely takes on a whole 'nuther form up there for sure. Will be interested to get your long-term on it.

Yes and no. The pink RCP turned out to be not built as I'd wanted - angles were off, a couple other things not right. Builder wasn't really into working with me on it, so **** it, it replaced my wifes aging Giant XTCSE-1 frame. The Chromag was just for the hell of it. I'm quite pleased with it - it is riding and feeling exactly like what I wanted, and expected to get from the Chromag boys.
My inner weight weenie is appalled. I can't bring myself to ditch the head tube badge, thereby saving 18gms. At least I can swap the stock bolts for some nifty red anodized alloy ones... The little details are important.

Any burly intended bike, or anything at this point really ought to come with ISCG tabs of some sort, damn the weight weenies. More and more riders are doing 1x and 2x drives, and it's nice to have the option to run some form of guide. Make em' removeable so they can be replaced if manked up, or if not using them. I'm not using them, but like having the option.

But…but…but…that appears to be built-in tabs to bolt the removeable tabs to?
Or is the plate to convert it from ISCG old to 05?

The only bash for the new 88mm BCD XTR that I've found is made by Homebrewed Components. I have one on order. In the meantime, Dremel tool, hand files, and bench grinder made the bash for the hardtail, and the Trance-X.
Spendy way to go about it, but since I already had the rings, and wasn't using them as chainrings anyhow...

Cannondale rush the seller offered to me almost 6 months after I first offered to buy, I bought it even though I had moved forward, planning to just flip it on the bay for a small profit, but after one ride it is a keeper

This. The bolt-on bit has ISCG-old and ISCG-05. Nice option. Remove if not using, replace if it gets mangled. The interface is pretty stout, so I think the bolt-on bits would get destroyed way before you mess up the frame/bolt interface.
