^^ Love that Transition. Very nice.

Here's my ride, 2011 Redline Monocog, "The Beast". I've been saving money here and there and making some upgrades on it.

Geared at 33X19 right now, seems to be good for the trails around the Twin Cities. I took it up to Duluth over the weekend and some of the steep hills there just about made my heart explode.

Playing with it sans dropper post and bash ring. Gulp. We'll see how long before I kill this ring. I'm smooth and all, but we have a lot of chunky around here, it's got a low BB height, and trialsin around on it is supahwickedpissah fun.

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...s/IMG_0253.jpg

Dropper will probably go back on as well, but we'll see. Every time in the past I've swapped back to a regular post, I've missed the drpper afer a ride or three.

Was raining all day today, and had crap to do at home anyhow. Playtime in the garage ensued after "chore" time.

Y'know, they make a pretty cushioned sheet vinyl now that is silver diamond plate - - you could do the whole garage floor in it.

Nah. That'd mess up my plan of covering the entire floor in a 3" layer of Great Stuff. It gets pretty chilly in there.

Seriousness: The black bits are pretty cushiony, and combined with a decent space heater, keep the space tolerable when out there in winter. Even then, I'm usually in a wool cap and lotsa' fleece stuff. Insulated door, walls, storm windows, inner door, sealed gaps and cracks...and an un-insulated (and high) ceiling area. May actually do something about that this weekend.

You're a good father!

But some nitpicking... fork remote looks awkward on the handlebar and front brake hose routing would be better on the inside of the fork legs.

ColinL 11-09-12 03:30 PM

I always run my brake hose outside of the fork for better mud clearance. But I can't remember the last time I rode in epic mud...

ColinL 11-09-12 03:43 PM

huh, just realized I haven't posted my bike here. just washed it today... first time since it was built in august.

Just picked it up from CL. 100 dollars. The seat, post, tires, and pedals, and cage, were all mine. I removed the pie plate, reflectors and all the other unnecessary bits. Ill probably upgrade the drivetrain but the wheels and hubs are pretty nice. Havent even ridden it yet I just snapped this picture after I got done wrenching. Very excited to take it on the local singletrack.

I also read some reports about the pepperoni fork snapping but the front end seems fine to me.

Saddle is an old Selle Italia SLR a buddy had lying aroung. I might strip it and see if it's comfy without the padding. Bars are Ritchey WCS Carbon Trail bars. 710mm and a + or - 5mm rise. Love them so far. Grips are stock. There will be another color when the time comes!
