Access MTB 29

Does anyone know anything about this brand of bike sold by PERFORMANCE? Price looks good but you know what they say, "you get what you pay for"

Any recommendations for an inexpensive 29ner that does not weight a ton?

All I know is that Access was originally the house brand for a smaller company called Supergo, which was later bought out by Big Bad Performance. They seemed like pretty good frames to me the last time I saw some in person.

ive got one of supergo's road frame sets and its surprisingly very nice. the weld/paint/decal work is on par with any of the big names.

Bikes: 1990 Trek 820 (Commuter), 1980s Bianchi (In Storage), 1970s Windsor fixed (Sold), BMC Superstroke 01 (Sold), Access XCL ss, Ellsworth Sub 22 (Sold), Trek 930 (Lending to a Friend), Voodoo Bokor One

The frames and well built and the part spec is awesome for the price. It is definitely a great deal. However, if you are looking to do some off road riding it is not the best in terms of handling, the Gary Fisher bikes or a Redline would be better suited. The 29" frame's geometry is just like their 26" but made to accommodate 29" wheels in the frame so the bike does not feel all that natural, then again I am 5'7 and a bit squatty. I test rode one here at the Performance in VA because I was looking for a new hardtail. I decided to go with a 2009 Redline Monocog Flight 29'r for $500 brand new. Test rode one at my LBS and it handles awesome.
