Specialized Stout hub

I purchased a 2010 Specialized Rockhopper Comp Disc in November and a couple weeks ago started to get a popping noise out of the rear hub so I too it to the LBS that I bought it from. They said the bearings were bad and replaced both hubs and rims. There was an issue getting a replacement rear hub so that is why they replaced everything to match. My questions is are the stout hubs a better one than the Hi Lo hub they come with from the factory?

Stout is specialized house brand if you didn't already know. Specialized makes/sources decent stuff. I have never heard of Hi-Lo so I suspect the Stouts are as good if not better.

Yes, I agree. I know nothing about the Hi-Lo, so the Stout must be equal or better.

(if you don't know...why give an opinion?)

because i suspect the OP merely wants to make sure s/he didn't get ripped off with the swap. because i've owned/ridden stout wheels in the past with no hub failure issues.
because in this case, an opinion from an experienced source is more helpful than cutesy gifs

do the research ed. if you find that hi-lo is actually rebadged hadley, i would be interested to hear about it.

The Hi-Lo is also a Specialized part - Hi = the high flange on the disk side - Lo = the other side. Essentially it is a front wheel built like a rear wheel - 2 different size flanges and 2 different spoke lengths. Pretty much exactly the same as a stout (bearings, quality) just a different design.

Most stout beer is pretty good, so I suspect your hub is of fine quality
