Bikes: Bike list is not a resume. Nobody cares.
Damn, I always knew there was something fishy about that stuff.

I wasn't saying the thread should be deleted, I'm sure it will bring about an entertaining conversation no matter what. For what it's worth, I don't know if it has been posted in the mountain bike forum or not, but I have seen it in a few of the others. I really like cf, and I have a cf road bike, but unless you are doing some super competitive racing and can really afford it, I would keep it off the mtn bike. That's just my personal preference though, not a comment as to the actual validity of the material.

I'm not worried. My '96 Y33 still works just fine. And that's old stuff carbon.
Been hearing how bad carbon fiber is for mountain bikes for over 16 years - yet my '08 Fuel EX9 snapped. Aluminum. Yeah, so which am I worried about?

Bikes: A fat tire & a skinny tire & two others I loaned out
I don't trust the stuff. And yet, I envy those who have it. It just seems too light to be strong enough for mountain biking. But I have no knowledge of how it compares to aluminum.

No it is NOT SAFE.
It spontaneously explodes and always fails just riding along.
That is why more and more manufacturers are falling over themselves rushing to make their bikes out of it.
They want to make all these unsafe bikes so they can be sued into bankruptcy.
Its the American way.

I'm concerned about the weave; all the college-graduated basket weavers from the 70's are nearing retirement age now, and while I'm sure all the weed kept their eyes sharp, I'm not sure they'd remember where they left off after the morning...ah...smoke break.
And who has a degree in basket-weaving nowadays? Who's gonna carry the torch when the oldsters retire?
Quality CF is doomed........
