Bikes: A fat tire & a skinny tire & two others I loaned out
Brapfaptastic!
Finally somewhat settled in after a few weeks living up in the north GA foothills. Been sick with cat scratch fever of all things, but I'm gonna check out Bull Mountain if I'm feeling up to it tomorrow.
Forgot to post the footage from my first supermoto race in July. The only footage that came out decent was from the 200cc & under open class, so most of the bikes out there were 125s & 150s, ridden by much better riders. Didn't quite have the balls to drop it down to 3rd in the turns when I really should have been. And I almost forgot that I wasn't on my bike. Valves got stuck right before the main events started, & was lucky enough to borrow someone else's. Josh Herrin can be seen taking off past me from the line & around 4.5 min in.
And the last video made by Florida Supermoto's now former promoter. Only made the cut in the background for this one.
I'll have to scope out Bull Mountain before I bother with the GoPro. Hear it's pretty sweet though.

Nice! I was considering one, but I think I will wait for the Blur TR to go into Santa Cruz's virtual parking lot sale.

Picked up a 09 Blur LT frame RP3 shock and Came Creek s2 headset for 175.00. It has a few scuffs on it but it's been hanging for about 3 years. The guy just never got around to building it. It was a deal I couldn't pass up. I built it up as a one by with parts from my on one inbred. Took it for a rocky root slick muddy Pisgah test lap. It passed with high marks. Same color blue as my Bullit that I miss.

Bikes: Bike list is not a resume. Nobody cares.
Such an SC fanboi.
I miss your Bullit too. Blue used to be fast. My boy still has his; still going strong - - can't kill 'em.

I should be much fastAr now. Just cleaned and lubed my freehub and it appears this needs to be done far more frequently. Everything's in good working order-- ratchet looks great. I didn't have any Mavic oil, so I dug around in a whole different gear bag and debated between Rem Oil and TSI-301. I ended up using the TSI-301 just because it is an aerosol and it was far easier to clean everything, wipe thoroughly, and then apply some more for lubricant.
Honestly that was so easy that if it migrates out too quickly I'll just pull things apart and do it again. But OH MY GOD. It spins soooo much better now.
Also scraped several ounces (yes) of chain lube & grass funk out of my RD jockey wheels. I have never seen anything that bad.
More maintenance coming up later this week as parts arrive.

Got a long test ride in Pisgah on Monday. Really like the bike, pedals well. I've been riding hardtails for the last few years so it's hard to judge it against my bullit or enduro. The bike did great on rooty rocky muddy slick Pisgah trails so I think I made the right move. This old man needed something with a Lil cush.

The girlscout busted his ribs up in a high speed rockgarden crash on Sunday. Farlow Gap in Pisgah is remote and unforgiving.

Sucks about girl scout, but props on the frame. What fork and shock you running?
I wanted the BLT when I got me Heckler but it was to expensive. The platform on these CTD shocks is amazing though and kills the bob.
According to Scrub, it's a good frame to short-shock if you decide 160mm is excessive and you want a slacker trail slayer, but I'm really making use of the 6".

I finally crawled out of the dark ages and bought a dropper post. I grew tired of scraping my thigh and other not-so-fun things on my saddle when hucking and descending.
Gravity Dropper Turbo LP 1" / 3" drop. Couldn't do more--- not enough seatpost showing. But at this point, I'm rather sure that 3" will be a big improvement, and I couldn't pedal for worth a damn if I simply lowered my saddle 3" the whole ride.

Nothing screams off to rough start of the day when you find a puddle of suspension fluid on the ground at the front wheel.

The worst I've had is when something feels funny and you see fluid weeping past the oil seal, down the lowers.
