New for 2012

I was just thinking that the Dragon was perfect compared to the Nemesis with a 71' HTA.

Yeah, for sure. IMO, it's a totally different bike. I think naming it the Dragon was a mistake. The Dragon 26/ 29 are geo'd like XC bikes. The 650b is geo'd more like an AM bike. I'd say it's about perfect for what I'd ride as a HT on trails. I'm still hoping for a beefier version of the SixFifty Bx dually that you could build in the upper-20's to 30# range for an Aggro-"B".

I was going to say it looked kind of retro, but I didn't have any examples to back it up & haven't been around MTB's long enough to use the term "retro" without sounding like a fool.

It's one of those geometry things. The head angle is slacker than a normal XC bike. Remember the post from Doug? The tubes are smaller b/c they're steel. The wheelset is taller than a 26" which makes them "appear" leaner than a short and stocky 26". Those two things make it look sorta retro.
The feel of it "should" be interesting though. Much less harsh than my fat tubed 7005 Komodo, but only a 1/2 degree steeper HA. Taller wheelset should make it roll a bit easier over the chop...yet not a full-on 29 to give it that sluggish 29'er feel.
Here's a review of it:

I know that I've read MBAction and various other rags including this review referring to aggressive riding as "Aggro / Agro". I challenge them to come up with the orig of that term...b/c I made it up back in the mid 2000's when I started saying "AggroXC".
I want my daggum credit!
